South Beach Diet

Well, I'm back on the SB diet. For me wedding I lost 16 lbs on it. So I'm back on it now that I've practically gained all that back. This office just doesn't get me out and about like my P1 office did. Sure it wasn't much then either, but at least for lunch we walked several blocks both ways, so that was at least enough to get my metabolism going. Or else we'd take a break and walk through B&N. Now all I do is sit for 9 hours a day. Most days anyway. Sometimes I go out and get my lunch, but I drive there, and come back to sit. Or if we go to lunch we drive there, sit, and drive back. So there is much less walking involved. So life is fattening in this office.

A co-worker and I have started working out in the comapny work out room during lunch two times a week, so that should help a little bit. Then I hope to start working out at my apartment's little room at least one more time a week. But since it's so cold out, once I get home, I don't want to go anywhere that's going to make me now cozy warm. I hate being cold!!!!

So right now I'm on Phase 1. No carbs or fruit at all for 2 weeks. Actually, I'd be almost done with the two weeks, but Darin's Mom just could not get the hint when I turned down the helping of mashed potatoes, so I was forced to take some. I told her no THREE times! So I finally took a little tiny dallop. But if you take a little you might as well take a lot because it makes you start all over. The point of phase one is to flush your body of all the starches and carbs so you don't crave them. So if you eat them, it still doesn't help you lose weight. So the 2 lbs I lost last week were gained back on Monday. However! I have lost them again as of today! Woo hoo! Now I just have to develop a strategy for avoiding his mom this weekend. I think I'm just not going to eat. I'm going to tell her I already ate at my grandma's house, or at the hospital or something, then snack on a piece of meat or something. I don't know for sure.

So I'm looking forward to getting this extra person off me again. This time it's going to be for good too! Now that I'm settled in to this miserable state of ice, I no longer have an excuse. I've even considered going to Weight Watchers or LA Weight Loss to see if they actually help. But right now I'm poor, so I'm on my own!

Wish me luck!

Snow Mobilin' & Sledding

For those of you who don't know Thursday and Friday it dropped about 3-5 inches of snow over this miserable state. This weekend, after driving to Fargo to visit my Grandfather on Saturday, who is in the hospital, Darin and I went home to Wheaton so he could do some snow mobiling.

Sunday afternoon we had lunch at Darin's parent's house. Darin's mom then wanted us to go out and find ice so she can make homemade ice cream in her old fashioned ice cream maker. So Darin makes me put on his snow mobile suit, gloves, hat, ski mask, etc. I looked like a brown snowman when I was finished. So we go get on the snow mobile and go looking for ice. It was hilarious. We wound up going to the river, which is frozen, and chiseling ice off of that. The ice cream was good though! It was totally worth it!

Then, after chiseling ice, Darin decided to make me drive my own snow mobile. This is the first time ever that I'll have driven a snow mobile. EVER! I was worried I was going to kill myself. But I did pretty well! After I got over the initial shock and claustrophobia of the helmet I had to wear, I was pretty good on my little snow mobile! I was scared as hell at first, as Darin is flying off in front of me in his own snow mobile. But then I got a little more comfortable. I think I could do it again. Now I need to go find a cute snow mobile suit, and helmet that will fit me.

Then, Darin's mom wanted to go sledding, so Darin and I went and found a good place to sled. That was hilarious! I haven't sledded since I was like 6. So that was a lot of fun. I went down this big'ole steep hill, and fell over 1/2 way down. Got snow all over me, and in my jacket. But I didn't care. It was hilarious. Then I got better on the second and third turn down. The hardest part was hiking my way back up the hill stuffed like a turkey with all this clothing on to keep warm. That stuff is really hard to maneuver in!

All in all it was a fun day, and I slept most of the way back to the cities!

What the Hell!!!!!!

It is 9:57 am and it is NEGATIVE 15 Degrees out !!!!!!!! That doesn't even include the windchill factor!!!!! If you go outside you can get frost bite instantly.

The only thing that is going to make me laugh today is, later today I am going to go outside and throw a cup of water into the air to watch it freeze instantly. Doesn't that sound like fun? I'm going to do it. And it'll amuse me for about a minute. But at least I'll have a minute right?!

Why the hell did anyone decide to settle in this area? Even if they came in the summertime when it was nice out, it'd only take me one crappy winter, and if whatever part of my family that survived, I'd be off to the South immediately!!!! No wonder Noweigens and Polish people get a bad wrap for being dumb. The don't know enough to get the hell out of dodge!

Why does anyone live up here?!!

Firrst Blog of the New Year

Today marks my first Blog of the New Year! Woo hoo!
So.... What enlightening things do I have to say to my friends that read this?
Not much. Not much at all. If anything really.

Darin is not yet living with me. He still has a few things to do in the big "W" before he comes up here permanently. He's been here for the weekend though, so that's nice. I like having him around all the time. Good thing too huh? Otherwise, I think I'd be in for some serious problems down the line! ha! Right now, as I sit here at work, slaving away, he's out looking for some sort of job. He's not sure if he wants one while he's out here or not anymore. So I'm interested in finding out what he decides to do.

I finally have all my stuff in one place now. So now I get to figure out which house gets what, and which storage unit gets to store what, and what did I really not need to drag across the country after all. So far, I've gathered quite a pile that will be going to Goodwill. And since I will actually have a tax accountant doing my taxes from now on, I'm going to make sure I itemize my donations this next tax season. I'm excited about that! Usually I just donate because they are good things, and someone could us them. But now, if I can get some money back from it, then yeck ya! That's what I'll be doing!

Can you believe we've already been married for 7 months now?! Get out! Oh, this reminds me that I have to take my ring in for it's 6 month check-up. I better do that soon! Yep. 7 months of wedded bliss. I highly recomend it to anyone who has someone in their lives that they truely love. (Not if you are one of those freaks that think they are in love with everyone you date, and want to hurry up and get married so you can have a little bit extra disfunction in your life.)

I balanced my budget for January, and I'm dead ass poor. Again. State takes are a bitch man! But a friend of mine told me that in January she takes her taxes up from a 0 to a 1 in Jan and February, so she doesn't get so much removed. Which helps her with the Holiday poorness factor. So I am thinking about trying this. I gotta think about it for a little bit though.

So there you go... My first random rants of the New Year!
