New Design

I decided my blog needed a face lift. And since I can't leave my room. OK. I ventured out because I had to. I had to go to the front desk to add my credit card to my room so I could log on to the Internet. And while I was out I managed to get bombarded by the show go-ers all duded up. Oh, and one perfectly thin, perfectly cellulite free size 2 hottie wearing tight black shorts so short her apple bottoms were hanging out. But in a totally hot way. Bitch. So back to my room I went and decided to create a new header.

What do you think?

Song I'm Diggin'

I'm not sure, but I think my mind may just be turning to mush. Here are some lyrics to songs that I'm totally cranking in my car ride to and from work. Love the way they sound and they perk me up.

OK. When I hear this song the last word is "Boobies". But in the lyrics website I found this in, it says "Groupies." I like boobies better.

When I grow up I wanna be famous I wanna be a star I wanna be in movies When I grow up I wanna see the world Drive nice cars I wanna have Groupies

PCD are a bunch of poets!

Another great poet of our time is Kid Rock...
And we were trying different things, we were smokin' funny things,
Making love out by lake to our favorite song
Sippin' whiskey out the bottle, not thinking' bout tomorrow
Singin' Sweet Home Alabama, all summer long

Wow. That's magical

Slipcovers. Are they worth it?

I have two ugly couches that will be in my nice new house. (House is 34 years old, but new to me). I realized the other day (light-bulb moment) that instead of paying a bazillion dollars to have the one with the hide-away bed in it reupholstered, I could buy a slipcover.

The thing is, they are almost $100 for one that looks alright to me. Are they worth this much money? I normally wouldn't care and buy it anyway to find out myself, but since I'm still recovering from a full pay period without a paycheck, I can't really afford a bad purchase hassle right now. I need something that will work, and that will work before my oldest friend shows up at my house in a couple weeks with her family. They can't see how ugly this couch is, let alone sit on it the way it is. It's just embarrassing.

Ahh...The Good Ole Days

I'm still unpacking. We have everything moved out of my storage unit now, so it's only a matter of time before I get through all my boxes. I actually think I only have two or three more to go through, then it's a matter of getting everything put away somewhere. It's actually been pretty fun. A while ago, I posted that it was just like shopping but without having to spend the money. Kai asked me what I had found. So I decided to take a few pictures.

Once upon a time, when a little company named Pier 1 had all these cool employees working for them, and they were doing well in sales, they allowed the priveledged home office workers to have an bi-annual sample sale. This meant that you could get great imported things for super cheap. For example, any candle bigger than a pop can was fifty cents, and anything smaller than a pop can was a quarter. Anyone that buys candles knows that a good candle the size of a pop can retails for at least $15. So this was a super fun time. The whole office would plan to be there early. My firest year, I think Kai and I got up around 6 to be there for when the doors opened at 8:00, and we were still quite a ways away from the front door. (Supsequent years later, I got to shop the day before because I was part of the merchandising team.)

When the doors opened it was a mad dash for goods. You'd grab anything you thought you might like and throw it into your bags. I got a lot of great furniture for cheap. Here are some of the little things I got too.

These are cool candles, but I have no idea where I thought I'd put them in my place. Now, maybe I can use them in my guest bathroom or something.I

I love this thing. This actually was in my bedroom at my last place, but I thought I'd take a picture anyway. I think this was one of those things I found that no one else wanted or something, and I picked it up for fifty cents. I think it'll go in my formal living room once I get furniture for it.

This is one of those things I forgot all about having, and when I unwrapped it I was excited! It's a candleholder, and it will look great next to my downstairs fireplace.

This is a great score because, although I hate dead flowers (OK they are dried, but same thing to me.) I need something to brighten my upstairs bathroom, and I decided I'd do this with red accents. This will work! And I didn't have to spend any money! (OK, maybe it was a dollar or something at one point in time.)Once upon a time I thought I'd use these as trivets in my kitchen. My kitchen was going to be red and black. Now I don't know what I'll use these for. Maybe I will sell them on ebay. They are solid wrought iron. I also have two red candles that would go nicely. Maybe I'll sell them as a package deal.Funny. There are no bugs in Texas. So why the heck did I pick these citronella candles up? Humm... don't have a clue. Like I said, you just grab things sometimes. But now I will be taking them to the lake and burning them like crazy all around me.

I don't know. I grabbed these candleholders because they were cute and thought I'd use them as a gift for someone sometime. Now that I've found them again, I might use them in the baby's room for something. The biggest one is about 3 inches tall. I'm sure they'll get destoyed pretty quickly if I do that, but oh well, they were cheap anyway.

Peonies!

Checkout my awesome peonies!

It may be hard to tell but that trunk is about 2 feet wide, and that vase is about 1 1/2 feet tall. So that's a BIG bouquet of peonies! I love my peony bushes! I've always wanted a peony bush, and I'm thinking these have been here since the house was built. They are hug blossoms! I'd say close to 6 inches diameter or more.

$336

That's what I got on my last paycheck.

Well, at least I got something. I thought I wasn't getting anything. Thank GOD I have a big line of credit open, otherwise I don't know how I'd get through the next two weeks with no money.

Phew. MG is down for the count for a while. She is not liking that I'm not picking her up. But I'm trying to prepare her for daycare. I put her in her swing hoping that she'd fall asleep, and I think it worked. I'm trying to think of all the things a daycare person might do or not do with her since she's got other kids to tend to. I sure hope this whole daycare thing goes well. I'm seriously freaking out about it. DJ has this cousin that worked at a daycare center for a few years, and she's really good with kids. I asked her if she'd move to our town to watch my kid. She said yes, but her husband wouldn't like that much. :o( Woah is me.

I finally feel like I'm getting things done around this house, and soon I'm going to have to go back to work. It sucks. The weather is finally looking good today (other than the wind gusts). I'm trying to decide if MG and I should try to take a walk, or if we would get blown away.

I'm looking forward to going back to work on a few levels. One will be that it's a controlled food environment. I only eat food during lunch, and maybe a snack if someone brings something in that is good. Right now, I snack too much. Even though I don't eat much for regular meals. You'd think that'd even things out a bit. But I don't think it is. I feel like I still have a sumo wrestler belly. I would love to have that mostly gone by now so I could at least fit in to some really cute shirts that I forgot I had. When I go back to work, I intend to start up my daily walks around the neighborhood once or twice a day. Before I got preggers I had a good little routine going that got me out of the office and losing a few pounds.

I found a pair of jeans today that I bought and wore once right before I got married. I have pictures of me in those jeans. I looked hot. Even though then, I thought I was a lard ass. I don't think I'll ever fit into those jeans again. I'm not even going to try. I am donating them to Goodwill. I wonder if I will ever look remotely attractive again. Especially since it's very hard to get out of the house with MG right now. I planned on joining a gym and getting a personal trainer, but the thought of being away from MG more than the 11 hours I already will be is way too much for me to deal with. Maybe I'll come up with something to do on my own on the weekends for a couple hours while DJ watches her.

No Longer Pissed

OK. I'm no longer pissed. My handsome hero of a husband found the tape for me! If you don't know what I'm talking about, read this. Now I can finish boxing things up!

I'm So Absolutely Pissed

I've been packing my town home up for most of the day today. I ran out of packing tape about 2 hours ago. No problem though, DJ bought two new roles the other day when I couldn't find the roll that just ran out. So I go to look for the two rolls, and I can't find the fuckers. I have looked in every cupboard and on every shelf and can't find where the heck I put them. I asked DJ to help me look, but he's useless. He's one of those, "If I don't know where to look, I don't know where to find them." people. And I'm one of those, "If I knew where to look, it wouldn't be lost" people!

I'm so incredibly irritated.

What?

Not a single blogger on my RSS feed has written anything today. The one day I have time to read and relax no one blogs. WTF?

My Phone

OK. So I know you're going to give me crap no matter what I say on this topic. But here goes anyway. I am on the verge of getting a new phone. Mine has been trying to die for some time now, and I think I've finally found one I can start a new relationship with. The hard part was deciding if I wanted a blackberry or a regular phone. I've decided on a regular phone. Mainly because I hope to upgrade my iPod to an iTouch someday. Likely not soon, but someday. Maybe the second generation iTouch will have more memory... Anyway, back to the subject at hand. What should I do about my phone number? (This is where I expect your snickering and sarcasm about how I don't answer my phone anyway, and whatever else you want to throw at me.)

What should I do? Do I finally accept the fact that I'm not going to be back in a big city ever and get an FM area code, or do I keep my Cities area code and hold out hope that one day, I might be back in a big city? I'm thinking I should just suck it up and get the number changed. But I just don't know for sure what to do. I don't want to commit to this place.

Ode to My Shoes – Oh Sweet Precious Shoes

I started to pack up my closet today, and I saw all my sweet, cute “pre-prego” shoes sitting there, all lonely in their pretty boxes. They have been neglected for six months now. They must feel abandoned and alone. All they have is each other right now. There is nothing I can do but hold them in an attempt to console them. I just wanted to lie down among them, open each box, and tell them how much I loved them and reassure them, that one day I will wear them again.

Don’t worry babies. One day, you will see your freedom again! One day, my manicured toes will see the light, and you, will rise again! Oh yes! He may knock me up, they may put you in a box, but they will never take our freedom!

Maybe I should go paint my face blue and white, get on a horse and pretend I'm Mel Gibson.

Today's News Events

Is anyone else freakin' shocked at the Heath Ledger news? Not like I knew him or anything, but I guess I didn't peg him for a toked up druggie. It's just terrible that his two-year old daughter is likely to not remember her father because she's so young.

In personal news.... Well, I don't really have anything interesting. I am still blowing up like a balloon. Don't ask us about names, because we have none yet. Don't ask us about supplies, because we have none yet. Don't ask us about where we're living, because we don't know. It's all so stable right now isn't it? It's a'it though. We've got it under control. Have you ever known me to not have my shit together? Nah... Panic, maybe, but I've usually got it together when I need it to be.

In work news.... Although life is stressful at the office right now, I think I'm making a positive dent. Did I tell you that our CEO isn't happy that our sales are down. Don't bother reasoning that the entire economy is down, and that we're not that bad off. He canceled our big conference trip. This year it was in Palm Springs. I was really looking forward to going somewhere warm, and I was going to make DJ come with. The conference is held in a really nice resort. I was there last year too. I'm totally bummed. Not to mention, this conference was really great last year, and we were looking forward to going and delving into a lot of the topics. The only ray of light is that I was going to have to buy a prego swimsuit, and a few prego summer clothes. So now I've saved myself some money. Even though I would totally have been OK with spending it for this type of trip.

Misc Topics

Want to know how great I think my husband is?  I know, you don't, but you're going to hear it anyway.  It's funny, because most girls I know think only the grandiose gestures of their man count for sweet and romantic.  But apparently, I'm a little warped.  I have had my car full of crap for the past two weeks.  I've either been too tired to unload it all into my upstairs town home, or else I've been to lazy.  Last night, we drove in to town together and I told him I was too lazy to get that crap out so I'd get it later.  Then we went to unloading all the Christmas goodies out of our trunk.  I started lugging things up the stairs, stopped to go to the bathroom, and when I came back down for my second load, he had emptied everything in my back seat as well.  Ahhhh..  Now ain't that sweet?  I thought it was.  But the even greater thing is, when I got into my car this morning, I had forgotten all about the sweetness, until I got in and looked behind me.  No crap!  It was great!  I loved him all over again. I wanted to run back upstairs and tell him how happy I was, but thought I better leave him to his slumber.

On other notes.  I had the worst gas a pregnant lady could ever have this morning.  I sort of felt like Samantha in Sex and the City when she and Carrie are in the shoe store and she lets two rip and Carrie is ready to die.  Luckily, it was only this morning when I was getting ready, so I only had myself to poison.  But it was pretty terrible.  I think prego me and pizza hut pizza do not mix well together.  I'll have to take note of that.  Luckily, I've had no incidents in my cubical this morning.  The weirdest part of it was it was that sort of "painful" stuff where you can feel it move through your intestines.  I felt it start above my baby bump way above where my intestines usually are, and felt it move all the way down.  It was totally weird realizing how stretched out and rearranged my organs are right now.  Obviously, I'm aware of this, because when my stomach growls it is below my boobs instead of below my belly button.  But still.  Actually feeling all that movement was a little bit trippy.

Did everyone have a good Christmas?  I did.  It was nice and relaxing and fun to spend with my Dad.

Does anyone have plans for New Years?  This prego will likely wind up at the home town American Legion.  I'm going to call my prego cousin and make her go too, so we can be sober together.  She should be up for it.

I Almost Died Today

OK. Exaggeration. But I seriously did fear for my life.

I was at the top of the stairwell at my office when suddenly, my right food decided to stop stepping forward. My heal got stuck on the first step and suddenly I found myself falling. Luckily, I grabbed the hand rail before toppling head-over-heals all the way down the stairs.

Instead, I just suffered a mild twisted ankle.

My boss has been out of the office the past couple days, and life has been pretty hectic for me because of it. I'm actually blogging from home right now. I was going to scrapbook, but I just don't feel like getting my fat ass up out of this chair to bend over a table. But I really need to finish scrapbooking my wedding.

My dad is in town, so that's pretty fun. He drove up, and brought me his old TV. They bought a new flat screen TV a while back. So they decided to give me their old one. It's about twice the size as my old one. Funny thing is, I never realized how small my old TV was until they put this on in. DJ bought a TV stand that actually isn't horrible. (I actually think I like it.)

Damn, McDreamy is HOT! I'll marry him and have his babies if Meredith won't.

Who's ready for Lost to start? Yeah baby!

Blogging

I have to blog. I have to blog. I have to blog. I have to blog.

Sorry.  Don't have time right now, but I have plenty to say!

Here's something for ya, Fargo is the #5 drunkest city in the nation.  Something to be proud of.  Go us!

Spelling

Is there a word that you CONSTANTLY spell wrong?  Even though it's a common easy word?  Apparently I have one of those.  It's DEFINITELY.  (And yes, I spelled it wrong the first time when I wrote it just now.)  For some reason, my mind will not properly spell this word.  I think even if my life depended on it, it'd come out wrong the first time!  I have no idea why.  It's like my brain just hates this word or something.

You're probably dieing to find out how I spell that evil D word aren't you?  I seem to spell it the same wrong way every time.  I spell it D-E-F-I-N-A-T-E-L-Y.  So it's just one letter, but it's really bugging me. Why does my spell check always identify this word as the one that is incorrect in everything I write?  Does anyone know any tricks to get myself back into spelling shape?

Have I Lost My Edge?

Something has happened to me.  I think I no longer have a temper.  How is that possible?  I've had one for 30 years, how can it just be gone? I think I'm going to miss it.

Yesterday, my temper was tested severely when I got called into a meeting with these two men who "think" they are some sort of major influence to my YouTube project.  (They are not, they are just two people who are contributing out of about 100.)  Anyway.  I was supposed to just show them a couple videos so they could get an idea of what is going on.  I wound up in there for about two hours explaining things to them, and listening to their ideas.  (Which they think are fabulous, or that we haven't already thought about them, or that they are NECESSARY to implement immediately.  They aren't.) Without expunging details, at one point, one dude said something that I normally would have raged on him for.  Instead of me fuming inside and wanting to tell him off, I actually didn't even feel like telling him off.  Instead, I calmly explained to him why I know what I know, and why what I know is the reason we are doing the project the way it's being done.  (The details are boring, so I won't bother you with them.)  When I finally got out of the meeting, I headed to my manager's office to give her some updates on different things.  Once I told her what had happened, she was just as annoyed as I was.  But she told me I handled it well.  Phew. That's good to hear.

So this morning, as I'm recalling all of yesterday's annoyances.  I can't help but wonder, where did my rage go to? I so should have told that dude off.  Apparently, when you turn thirty, you lose some tude or something.  Or, is it something that happens to you when you move to the middle of no-mans-land? But I'm not worried about it.  I'm  sure my lovely hubby will do something to piss me off, and I will have to yell at him.  (I'll be forced to.) We haven't fought in a while, so I'm sure it's coming.  :o) ha!

Boobalicious

Just like Fergie, I can spell.  And my own song today would be Boobalicious.  Today I dawned a very cute new top I hadn't wore yet that I bought when Kai and I had our little shopping binge a few months ago.  (Geez, it feels like forever ago!)  Anyway.  It's a super cute, brown baby doll top.  (Hides my fat well.)  I added a cute half cardigan to cover some of the girls.  When I left the house, it looked fine.  But when I got to the office, I felt like the girls were out too far.  Especially when I looked down.  So I decided I needed to change into something.  I didn't really notice anyone looking specifically at my tities, but I thought I better change anyway.  Add that I am moving my cube to another part of the building today and have to bend over to push boxes through the hall.  I thought it was just an overall good idea.

I  had to go to the big M to run an errand for one of my customers anyway, so I stopped in at Vanity to see what tee shirts they had on sale.  for $9.98 I bought a shirt that says, "So I hear you have a big tractor."  Totally cute.

Last night at work, do you know what I learned?  I learned that chlorine is hard on gold.  It makes it deteriorate more quickly, as well as dullens (is that a word?)  the shine.  So ladies and gents, keep them out of your Jacuzzis and pools if you want them to last.

I also learned that I should have received a peridot, a ruby, and pearls by now.  I can skip the pearls though, don't care for them much.

Random Topics

I am wearing a new color today! Kelly Green.  I for some reason don't have any green in my closet.  So Sunday when I got off work, I decided to do a little shopping for work.  I found a really cute silk wrap top that is black with Green chain like things running through it.  It's totally cute.  I also bought myself a really cute green sweater.  I look good in them both.  Of course.  Otherwise I wouldn't have bought them.  Duh.

I'm filling in for a lady that I work with tonight that came down with Pneumonia.  So this next paycheck, I'll have clocked 23 hours!  Holy crap!  That's a lot of hours for a part-time job.  But it will be nice since I am in serious need of cash.  Plus, the State Fair is coming up and I didn't get to go last year.  If I can't go to the MN one, then I definitely want to go to the TX one.  So I want to make sure I have plenty for wasting.

I had a weird dream this morning.  John Mayer was in my room when I woke up, half naked, showing his stupid tattoos and his terribly pasty upper body to me.  I guess he was trying to get me to make out with him or something, because he was really clingy, and when I got up to take a shower with him, he got really weird and annoying.  So when I got in the shower, I tried to lock him out, but he somehow got in and tried to get in the shower with me.  I kept trying to politely kick him out, but it wasn't working.  Then he starting crying and wanted to know why I didn't love him.  Then when I woke up, his stupid song was on the radio.  I don't like JM, so it was sort of a nightmare for me.  I hate the clingy, touchy feely, guitar playing, lead singer, whiny baby types.  This is how he comes off to me, although, if I ever met him, I'd give him a chance to prove me otherwise.

Work is still pretty hectic.  I really hope it pays off.  I've gotten a lot of recognition from my boss and other people I work with about how well they think I'm doing with these random projects.  So I hope that bodes well for me in the future.
