Heelarious!

OMG! I think I might fork over the money to have these! This is something that my friend FWMama is going to H-A-T-E with a capitale H-A-T-E, but I love them, I think they are hilarious!

My friend sent me the link to these shoes that were featured on the Today show or something like that. Someone can buy my little one these so I don't have to. :o)

They are meant to be a joke so don't get your panties in a wad if you're appauled.

The site even says so
hee • lar • i • ous [he-lair-ee-uhs] - noun:
Extremely funny, completely soft shoes for babies 0-6 months designed to look like high heelsNot intended for walking (heel will collapse with weight). Not intended to harm children in any way. WARNING: May cause extreme smiling and hysterical laughter when in use (this is completely normal).

I'm for sure that FWMama is screaming as she reads this. ;o) Love you!

Ahh...The Good Ole Days

I'm still unpacking. We have everything moved out of my storage unit now, so it's only a matter of time before I get through all my boxes. I actually think I only have two or three more to go through, then it's a matter of getting everything put away somewhere. It's actually been pretty fun. A while ago, I posted that it was just like shopping but without having to spend the money. Kai asked me what I had found. So I decided to take a few pictures.

Once upon a time, when a little company named Pier 1 had all these cool employees working for them, and they were doing well in sales, they allowed the priveledged home office workers to have an bi-annual sample sale. This meant that you could get great imported things for super cheap. For example, any candle bigger than a pop can was fifty cents, and anything smaller than a pop can was a quarter. Anyone that buys candles knows that a good candle the size of a pop can retails for at least $15. So this was a super fun time. The whole office would plan to be there early. My firest year, I think Kai and I got up around 6 to be there for when the doors opened at 8:00, and we were still quite a ways away from the front door. (Supsequent years later, I got to shop the day before because I was part of the merchandising team.)

When the doors opened it was a mad dash for goods. You'd grab anything you thought you might like and throw it into your bags. I got a lot of great furniture for cheap. Here are some of the little things I got too.

These are cool candles, but I have no idea where I thought I'd put them in my place. Now, maybe I can use them in my guest bathroom or something.I

I love this thing. This actually was in my bedroom at my last place, but I thought I'd take a picture anyway. I think this was one of those things I found that no one else wanted or something, and I picked it up for fifty cents. I think it'll go in my formal living room once I get furniture for it.

This is one of those things I forgot all about having, and when I unwrapped it I was excited! It's a candleholder, and it will look great next to my downstairs fireplace.

This is a great score because, although I hate dead flowers (OK they are dried, but same thing to me.) I need something to brighten my upstairs bathroom, and I decided I'd do this with red accents. This will work! And I didn't have to spend any money! (OK, maybe it was a dollar or something at one point in time.)Once upon a time I thought I'd use these as trivets in my kitchen. My kitchen was going to be red and black. Now I don't know what I'll use these for. Maybe I will sell them on ebay. They are solid wrought iron. I also have two red candles that would go nicely. Maybe I'll sell them as a package deal.Funny. There are no bugs in Texas. So why the heck did I pick these citronella candles up? Humm... don't have a clue. Like I said, you just grab things sometimes. But now I will be taking them to the lake and burning them like crazy all around me.

I don't know. I grabbed these candleholders because they were cute and thought I'd use them as a gift for someone sometime. Now that I've found them again, I might use them in the baby's room for something. The biggest one is about 3 inches tall. I'm sure they'll get destoyed pretty quickly if I do that, but oh well, they were cheap anyway.

Check It Out!

I found my old cell phone from college. I remember then it was one of the smaller ones out there. It was a limited edition nokia in "sea foam" green. I was so cool.

This phone was awesome. It took a lickin' and kept on tickin'. Kai, this is the phone that fell into the toilet that one New Years. I had to take it apart and lay it on the counter for three weeks to get it to work to get the phone numbers out of that. But after three weeks it worked again! Dang that phone was awesome.

BTW. The water was clean. Blue and everything. I hadn't peed yet.

I L-O-V-E Amazon.com!

Who loves Amazon? I love Amazon!

Things that I can't find anywhere else, I find on Amazon. I went straight to the manufacturer's website to find some mosquito netting for my baby stuff (An absolute must in this frickin state), and the stupid website is out of stock of 2 of the 3 items that I want. So I went to Amazon. Guess who has everything I want? And guess who suggested some other things that I didn't even know I wanted? AMAZON!

Want to know what else I couldn't find in stores? Infant sun hats. Want to know where I found several? Well.... Maybe I won't tell you my secret.

Tomorrow I'm venturing off into the "big city" with my brave husband. It will be scary, but I think we will get through it. And Thursday, I get to go into the same big city all by myself. I'm totally excited about this! DJ will be with the baby all day long. Woo hoo! My daycare lady suggested that I bring the baby by for a couple hours at least so she (the baby) could get familiar with all the kids. This is a good idea, but I'm also sad and scared. I don't want to leave my baby alone with anyone. Even though I think this lady will be just fine. I just don't want to do it. I also don't want to leave her for 9-10 hours each day either. :o( The daycare lady is going to see my baby more than I do in a weeks time. It's so sad. Maybe I need to quit my job and be a stay at home mom. Who knows, maybe this whole kid thing will force me to implement one of my business ideas. Lord knows I can't afford to be jobless.

New Gadgets!

Don't you just love new gadgets?! I do!

DJ decided he needed a new muffler. Why you ask? Because his old one was too loud and irritated him. And he just HAD to have a quieter one just this moment. Right before we move and right before the baby comes. AND right after he's lectured me for days about saving our money in case we need it. So when I found this out, I told him that one of the two $200 items I wanted was coming off my want list and onto the purchased list. I decided I was buying my iPod Tower that I've wanted since Sharper Image is going out of business, or repositioning or whatever. Anyway, it's about $60 cheaper right now. So I ordered it. Of course, DJ thinks it's going to be a piece of crap and blah blah blah.

Yesterday we got it! The UPS guy delivered it and I made him run down the stairs to meet him. We opened it up, plugged it in, and it sounds great! I'm so happy! Funny thing is, it's my toy, but DJ is the one that took over and played with it most of the night. And I suspect that if I would have taken my iPod to work today like I normally do, he would have been pissed off that he couldn't play with it today too. And he doubted that it would be anything of quality for that price and that size. Whatever. This bitch knows what she's doing when she buys something.

Now all I have to do is wait for him to buy something else and use that as my reason to buy a new computer monitor and I should be set for myself for a while. I downloaded a few lullabies the other day too, so now maybe I can go find some interesting baby stuff to add to my collection. Any good suggestions?

Twenty-Four Hours!

That's exactly the amount of time left until I pick Kai up at the airport. Whoo Hoo! I have no idea why the butterfly on my ticker hasn't moved, but I haven't had time to look into it either.

We have an itinerary and everything. I can't wait! It's going to be a tiring weekend, but it's going to be so much fun! On the agenda:

Shopping Shopping Shopping! Plus some clubbing, eating, drinking, and some outdoor things too. The weather should be pretty good for most of the weekend, so that should work well too!

I can't wait! I'm taking a half day tomorrow so I can get to the cities in time. Woo hoo!

I'm totally broke right now, so I'm going to have to do some rearranging of money on my credit cards. Shhhh... Don't tell my husband. Actually, he just bought himself a new four wheeler, so go ahead and tell him! He owes me at least half the value of that four wheeler in things I like for me anyway!

My Ass Is KILLING Me

And no, you perverts, it's nothing like I suspect you're thinking.

This Saturday, guess what I got?! A Bike! Here it is to the right! Just kidding. I went into the garage tonight to take a picture, but the lighting just didn't look good, so sorry. No picture.
Saturday we bought the bike, drove to the Big W, and rode around the dirt roads with my MIL & SIL (They were already getting their bikes out when we pulled into the lot. It was a lot of fun. But my ass totally took a beating. That little seat must not be padded at all. It was very hard to sit, or squat or do anything that involved movement of my "apples" for the rest of the day.
DJ was telling me they make "fat ass" seats that I can get. (Isn't that nice of him to word it that way too? Can't you tell he loves me?" Yeah...something like that.) I think I'll hold off on the fat ass seat until I get used to this biking thing. We went again today. It still hurt, but I think it wasn't as bad. One more fun thing! I bought this little gadget that tells me how fast I'm going, how far, calories burned, fat burned, average speed, and all this other fun stuff!
So far, I'm having a lot of fun. I'm going to have to mix it up with rollerblading and regular walking though otherwise, I'll get pretty sick of it.
OH! Guess what else this means?! It's actually nice out up here! The ice is almost completely melted, and I am hoping the get the street sweepers out soon to get rid of all the lovely sand they've dumped onto the roads over the past 5 months.
Life is looking up in this place!

Walmart

The Walmart in my area has the worst clientel ever. EVER! I don't know why I keep going back to that place. Actually, I do know. The prices are fabulous, and now they have a great produce and meat department. I have no issue with Walmart. I have issue with the customers. They are trashy, don't care for their stuff, definitely don't care for anyone else's stuff, cheap, lazy, uncleansed, undisciplined people. The Walmart in this town is absolutely terrible. It's the worst I've ever been to. The best one was in FTW (even though if I shopped at night I was sometimes worried some gang banger was going to mug me.)

I try to avoid it on the weekends when all the farm polks (Not a typo - my hybrid word for podunkville folks) come out. I acutally try to avoid any public shopping on the weekends for this reason. But that's a whole nother blog post. Even at lunchtime, when the mall, Target, and other like establishments are slower, and their clientel is the working lunch shopper, Walmart has the jobless, gotta get pregnant again so I can get more welfare, I'm not aware of anything else around me folk in there with their entire family screaming and yelling and whatever else it is they decide to do while in the store. I have seen more crazy, nasty white trash at this walmart than I have at any NASCAR evet I've ever gone to. At least the NASCAR white trashers have pride in what they are doing. Plus, those guys are fun!

I know good ole Wally World has a knack for attracting those that may not have much fortune, but that doesn't mean that a person (or family) has to act like animals to surive! Come on people now! And why is it, if you are a Walmart shopper you don't know how to drive through a parking lot, or walk in the parking lot without spreading your family out shoulder to shoulder blocking those large metal things on wheels from either parking, or leaving the lot. You know, those big things with wheels might have a person in there ready to crack and mow you down! Which, buy the time I got out of there this afternoon, I really was about to plow over this family of 3. Instead, I just crawled up on their asses and made my engine run louder. Eventually the dad turned around and realized, "Oh, that big metal thing on wheels is trying to move" Di di di! (In my best Carlos Mencia voice). Maybe they didn't know those things could move because their version of it has been up on blocks in their front lawn for 10 years.

Baby's Got a Bran New Coat

On my ride into work this morning, I realized something.

Last night I bought myself a coat.  I thought nothing of it, other than, "I finally have a coat that is not leather or suede."  My leather one is not very warm, although very fashionable.  And my suede coat is very warm, but is so stiff I feel like an abominable snowman in it.  (I'm also claustrophobic, so not being able to move as freely as I'd like really freaks me out if I am in it for too long.)  Anyway.  Coats are on sale right now, so I went and bought me a casual coat for wearing around the farm.  $50.  You know, one that I wouldn't mind getting cow shit on.  ha!  Just kidding, we don't have cows.  But one I wouldn't mind if it got a little dirty.  (OK, who am I kidding.  I'll mind if it gets dirty, but at least it will be easier to clean if it does get dirty.)

So I'm wearing my new coat this morning, and as I said, during my 10 minute drive to work, I realized that this is only the second non leather coat I have bought.  EVER.  While in Texas, the only coat I owned for majority of my 8 year residency was a jean jacket.  I finally broke down and bought a wool jacket in winter 03 because walking though the parking ramp everyday in the winter really got cold because of the wind whipping factor.  So that was my first ever purchased coat.  Then working where I did before coming here, I have bought 2 leather coats, and 1 suede. 1 leather coat is completely useless other than it's quite cute on me.  So I'm pretty excited about my new one.  I'll have to go buy matching gloves, and knit me a matching scarf.  I already have the yarn for it too!  (I bought it on clearance about 2 months ago.  Must have been fate.)

On other notes.  WW starts today.  It's actually just the informative meeting,  hopefully I have another week before they weigh me in.  I want to make sure I'm as far away from 200 as possible before it's recorded in ink.  God I'm a lard ass.  I'm not 200 lbs, but I'm pretty close.  Too close for my taste.

What I'm eating right now... pudding.  DJ made it last night, and I can't let it go to waist!  After I eat this pudding, I'm eating my egg that I brought in, and I should be good until lunchtime, where I'll be eating a SmartOnes during my WW meeting.
