Day Two
So then, while we are standing in line to order dinner at this Italian restaurant that is sort of like Corner Bakery meets Panera Bread he asks me, “Can I borrow some cash from you for tonight? I hate to ask, but since I lost my card, and the musical’s vendors usually only accept cash for souvenirs…” So I say, “No problem. After all, I know where you work.” So then he tells me he’ll reimburse me for my ATM fee too for when I have to take out more cash for myself later. I tell him this is not necessary, but thank you. So we eat dinner, and part ways.
This morning, I call to see how he intends to checkout. Express through the tv, or if he was going to do it at the front desk. He sounded groggy, and I quickly realized he was still sleeping. So I slowly gathered my things and headed to the lobby. I checked out, and this very good looking bellman asked me, very politely of course, if I needed transportation. So I smiled my best, "I'm available smile - knee jerk reaction to a hot person speaking to me, and said, "yes, but I was waiting for a colleague". He then took my luggage. -This was embarrassing since my luggage is old and falling apart. I no longer have a handle for rolling it conveniently down the street.- Then I took a seat to wait for my colleague. The hot bellman came up to me and asked if I liked tea. Thinking he was going to offer me a cup, and knowing I was going to have to lug my bags around, I said no. He then just looked at me and smiled. So I smiled back. (Hoping I looked cute. Again, knee jerk reaction. but hey! I'm married not dead) He then said he was sad because he was going to suggest some new teas for me to take with. I instantly regretted saying no, because I'd like some new tea's to try. :(
When Steve finally comes down to the lobby, he has his shoes in his hand, a bag full of stuff from the musical, his computer bag, and then his rolling suitcase. I find this a little big much since we will be boarding a plane. And knowing that I don’t like to carry a bunch of crap around with me when I fly, I know this is going to cause me strife later in the day. Which it does. First, let me also mention that because I was the first one to the lobby, I got the taxi to the seminar. I also paid for said taxi upon our arrival. I also paid for the second taxi that got us to the airport. At lunch today, we went to Potbelly’s. This restaurant was so busy, I was just in a hurry to pay and leave. I forgot to get a receipt. If you don’t get a receipt, you can’t be reimbursed for your food spending. So I asked Steve if I could just photo copy his to show proof of the expenditure, and he suggested to me that I go back to the restaurant and ask them to print me up a receipt. Now which one sounds easier to you? Copying the receipt to show for your records, or going all the way back to the restaurant? Well, I didn’t go back to the restaurant, and I am reporting that I ate there anyway. If Steve doesn’t let me copy his receipt then I’ll just turn it in without.
Where was I? Oh yes, security point at the airport. Remember, he’s got all of this shit with him. We have to take off said shit to go through the checkpoint. I am so glad that I am an organized human being, which prepares for upcoming tasks ahead of time. I took my laptop out of my bag, I took off my flip flops, put them in a tub with my ONE bag which holds my laptop and doubles as a purse, and went through security. Do you think I had any issues? Do you think it took me long to get my things back together? No. How long do you think it took Steve? Mind you, we do have ample time to get to our gate. It was just interesting to me how unprepared he was for the situation. He really should have thought ahead and packed his suitcase better. He would have had less to hassle with while roaming through the airport. Then, I mentioned previously that Steve and other Septorenites (I made that word up, I like it! CR, does this count as a point? Maybe ½ a point at least) seem to speed walk to their destinations. And I gues I have been told that I am a speedy walker from time to time as well, but only if I need to be. When I have time, I take my time. So he starts to jet off. So I decide I’m just going to take my own pace, and let him run off. This was a better for me than the first time around. I no longer am going to run to keep up with a speedy walker unless I have to.
Did I mention that he also fell asleep in the cab ride to the airport? He didn't even have manors to try and hold a conversation with me for that short time that we shared a cab. But by then I gave up on polite chit chat.
I don’t really want to sound bitchy. Steve seems like a very nice guy. Just not as put together as I would have thought for the age that he is. He seems to be uneasy with himself and his surroundings. This once again reaffirms how grateful, glad, and thankful to God that I am happy with the person I am today.
All in all, it was a pretty good trip. I learned stuff on the second day of our seminar, I roamed an unknown city all alone in the dark, and survived being hit on by a creepy man, and at the end of the evening, I even gave a “homeless” man my change. (Even though he’s probably going to spend it on booze, or take it his million dollar home and place it along with all the other millions he’s collected throughout the day in a safe and go to bed in his $1000 sheet set.)
Oh, and one more thing! The guy I sat next to on the way home worked for Haagen-Das Ice Cream, he gave me free coupons for icecream! Woo hoo! Life is good.

My Solo Night in Chicago
I found the Chocolate Place Kai told me to find. MMM MMM yummy.
I also found the Aldo Shoes. But luckily for me they were closed when I got there. I also found my favorite shoe store, Bakers Shoes! But they were also already closed. I think I'll go back tomorrow if we have a break for lunch. But on second thought, and after looking at a map, the store is 7 blocks away from where my conference is. I guess I will be doing without the shoes.
:( boo

I've Decided I Hate to Fly
I do not plan to try to like it anymore. Here are my reasons why I don't like to fly:
- You are at the mercy of the Airlines time and money
- The fabulous smell of jet fuel
- No oxygen until the plane starts to ascend
- The strange feel of my head when I try to hold it up while ascending
- Trying not to toss my cookies in turbulent weather
- Trying not to toss my cookies when we land
- Trying not to toss my cookies from the smell of someone's rank, cigarette smoke, Body odder, or cologne.
- Crying babies
- Drunk people
- Expensive alcoholic beverages
- Having to sit in the same chair for an hour or more during the flight
I guess I could list more, but I'm just too tired. Maybe on my flight home, I'll make a better, more detailed list.
Anywho.... I am not in Chicago. I am virtually here alone. My co-worker/business training buddie, really seems to be more into going it alone. He's been here like 5 times. Me, none. I feel like I've basically traveled all this way alone, with exception to a few minutes here and there of idol chit chat. Then, we had 2 hours to kill during our lay over, and he practically sprinted throught the airport, and again on our way to baggage claim. I didn't pick the best shoes for sprinting, so by the time we got to baggage claim, I could barely hold my ankles up. So I took off my shoes. Luckily there is an Old Navy across the street. I will be purchasing some flip flops or something before we make our next sprint through the airports. This time, I might might tell him to go ahead while I peruse the magazine racks.... Yeah, that's it.
Tomorrow at the training, I plan to make some friends. And if I don't, I'm perfectly content with going it alone. (I am dubbing this, "pulling a kai". He seems to really enjoy going off on his own to explore unknown cities.) I hope that I can live up to the standards he has set forth upon me. I'm hoping that we have a good enough break either at lunch or in the evening that I can peruse the millions of shops in the downtown area! It's like my own little Mecca. God is calling out to me, and he's telling me to shop!
I am staying at the Burnham Hotel in downtown Chicago. The view from my room would be really great if it wasn't for the construction zone directly below. Before my coworker ran off to his room, I asked him if he wanted to meet up for dinner. So we met back in the lobby at 8:00. I had this seafood medley that was basically a seafood salad. But it was really good. It had tuna, salmon, shrimp, and scallops. It filled me up just right. I'm a little full, but not too bad. Hopefully I can eat like that the rest of my stay here. Yummy, but not stuffing my face. It's hard when it's all covered by the company you work for.
Oh, an done more thing before I go off to bed. I decided to read the Davinci Code. I have been avoiding it because I got so sick of all the hype when it first came out. Now that it's out on paper back, I bought it to read. Good thing too, since I'm virtually alone here. It has come in handy today while waiting for planes to come in and out.
Nighty night!
The Changing of the Keys
So about 11:00pm I head home. I come in through the garage, and head up the 6 stair steps to my door. I turn the key. The key doesn't turn. So I think I am using the wrong key. I change key's and nothing. So I go back to my original key. Nadda. After trying my key several times, I decide they have changed the locks on me. So I call the emergency maintenance number. They guy calls me back in about 5 minutes, which seemed like 20 since the alcohol I had consumed had finally hit my bladder. He tells me that he'll be there in 30. What?! So I tell him I have to pee, and that I've been driving for 4 hours. OK. That's not all untrue since I drove 3.5. He didn't need to know that it was 4 hours ago. He tells me he'll try and get there as soon as he can.
I bided my time by talking on the phone to Kai, and thinking about which tree I could pee behind. I was very surprised to find out that Mr. self-proclaimed alcoholic was ASLEEP! ASLEEP I tell you! I guess he was sleeping off his drunken stupor from his day of work. You know Kai, you really should seek some counseling. We actually discussed how I'd really love to take a crap in my neighbors storage unit. He is an ass, and it'd totally be great! But I didn't have to crap, just pee. I was seriously thinking about peeing in his storage unit when the maintenence dude showed up. (It's not my fault the neighbor doesn't lock his unit)
The maintenance dude shows up after about 20 minutes. Kai tells me he wants me to stay on the phone until the dude leaves in case he’s going to try to rape me. This was a very nice sentiment because it would have never occurred to me. So I tell him that I’ll call him back as soon as I am in the apartment. If I don’t call him back in 5 minutes, he needs to call the police. The maintenance man lets me in, gives me my new keys, and says goodnight. I think I actually freaked him out since I told him I thought I was going to have to pee on a tree. I was so happy to see my bathroom!
Turns out, the apartment complex sent out a memo about 2 weeks ago saying they were changing the locks on everyone’s doors. I obviously didn’t get that memo since I haven’t been there in 2 ½ weeks. That really chapped my hide. But I was very happy for not going downtown, I would have had to call that dude around 3 or 4 am, and probably would have been too drunk to know my key’s didn’t work. Yep. It could have been much worse.
Saturday, I cleaned until about 3:00 and then called a couple of my girlfriends to see if they wanted to watch season 3 of Sex and the City. So we went to an early dinner – where I stuffed myself silly, I hadn’t eaten all morning. Then we went to the convenience store where I bet the clerk thought we were drunk, but we weren’t, and bought some candy and pop for our outing. My two girlfriends were a little hung over, so it was going to be a no alcohol evening for us. Even though I had two margaritas at dinner. It was a nice Saturday evening.
Sunday, I basically got up, finished loading my car, and headed back up North. I called my big D man, and he convinced me to stop in town before I headed home. So I took a detour. He took me to lunch/dinner at the local bar, then we did some dirty things, took a nap, and I headed off. I had to get home so I could pack for my trip to Chicago. I head out today at 11:30. I’m both excited and nervous! It’s my first convention!

Blog Yourself a Good Reputation
In a world where prospective employers and clients Google you before they hire, the Boston Globe says you can use your blog as a personal marketing tool to further your career.
The most effective way to show your best face on the Internet is to show off your expertise in your field:
Pick your topics carefully and have a purpose. ”The most interesting blogs are focused and have a certain attitude,” says van Allen. ”You need to have a guiding philosophy that you stick to. You cannot one minute pontificate on large issues of the world and the next minute be like, ‘My dog died.’ “

An Email from My Sister
Ummm...... NO!
What the FUCK does she want now?!!!!! I haven't spoken to here since my wedding. That was in June 2004.
Update: 4/18/06
I turn my cell phone off during work hours. So yesterday when I was at Pier1 shopping for 50% off Easter stuff, I turn my phone on. I have a message. It's from her. "KB, call me back, I need your address, it's for Susies wedding."
So now my question is, "What the hell is she doing for Susies wedding? and does Susie know this? And if she's doing something for Susie, then why does that involve my address?"
So I call Susie, she tells me she is worried because she never asked my idiot sister to do anything for her. (OK, she didn't say, "idiot") She then tells me how my sister sent her these dumb bells attached to cards, (with the wrong wedding colors on them, her colors are purple, the card/bell things were maroon). She now is scared the my sister is making these things for her. Who does this without even asking if it needs to be done? Well, I can answer that. My selfcentered, egocentric, backstabbing, thinks she's better than everyone sister. That's who. So I told my cousin I'd call my mom and get the scoop. My cousin told me that if it is the bell/card things to tell her she doesn't want them. ha ha ha! Turns out, Susie hates bells and bows. She also already has her party favors for the wedding. So if my sister does do this thing, then they aren't going to be used anyway.
Susie is also catching on to my sister's MOA as well. She mentioned something to me while we were drunk on Saturday. I just told her what I thought, and told her I don't want to talk trash about her because it makes me look bad, but since she asked.... I've done a good job not to bad mouth her around relatives. She on the other hand, tries very hard to make me look bad in front of them. Well, she tries very hard to make everyone look bad in comparison to her. But my relatives are smart. Many of them have mentioned to me that she is off the deep end. (and I secretly love hearing it too!)
Lilagirl and blac17 feel free to share your fond memories of my sister here if you like. I'm sure I sound just really mean, but people who have witnessed the conniving beast at work understand.
Worth Repeating
Comment if you like as well!
I've been told that I am a ball buster many times over my 29 years (Even by my husband). And you know what? Only maybe a handful of those times has that hurt me. I make absolutely no excuses for knowing what I want, going for it, and accepting nothing less then the best. Of course my personality can use some improvements. Everybodies could. Although I make no excuse for the me that I am, I am also constantly trying to be sure that I am the best me I can be. I do come off as being a bit too rash for some peoples tastes too soon. But even so, I for the most part, like the person I am today.
I would not have become the person I am today if it weren't for who I was yesterday. As well as the trials, tribulations, and triumphs in the past.
Everything happens for a reason, even horrible or painful things. These are meant to make you stronger. If you ignorantly chose to bypass the lesson, you'll just repeat it until you inevitably do learn. This is why some people reach a sense of peace with their lives sooner than others.

Easter Trivia
What inspired First Lady Dolley Madison to old annual Easter egg rolls in Washington DC?
...a story she heard about Egyptian children rolling colored eggs at the site of the Pyramids. She copied the idea, inviting youngsters to roll Easter eggs down the sloping lawn of the US Capital. The event was moved to the White House lawn in 1878.
Interesting eh!
Here's Something Worth Hearing About in the News
Gay families among thousands participating in White House egg roll
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Thousands of children, including some brought by gay and lesbian parents, braved chilly rain at the South Lawn of the White House Monday to roll colored eggs across soggy grass as part of an event dating to the 19th century.
About 16,000 tickets were distributed for the day-long event, and about a hundred gay and lesbian parents lined up for the passes handed out on a first-come-first-served basis.
The gay and lesbian couples, who wore rainbow-colored leis, said they wanted to give their children an opportunity to have fun while making a political statement that they should be welcome.
"We just wanted to come out to be visible and present and to let people see we are families, too," said Alisa Surkis, 42, of Brooklyn, New York, as 3-year-old-daughter Ella clamored for her partner, Colleen Gillespie, to take her over to see the Easter Bunny.
The Family Pride Coalition and other organizers said they wanted to use this year's event to raise the profile of gay and lesbian couples, a move that drew the protest of conservative groups who said they were trying to "crash" an event.
Several gay couples said Monday they had encountered no problems once they had obtained tickets.
"For me, I would never have thought of coming on our own," said Kevin Patton-hock, 46, of Boston, who attended with his partner Arthur and their two kids, 6-year-old Mao and 5-year-old Chet.
"Like any parent, you want to protect your kids from the icky places," Patton-hock said. "I know there are some parents who will have some issues with us."
Bundled in raincoats, President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush kicked off this year's egg roll before a cheering crowd. The president blew the whistle to start the race, a scramble in which children use big spoons to push the eggs.
"Welcome to this happiest of traditions at the White House," Laura Bush told the crowd. "In Washington, we know that spring has arrived when the White House lawn is filled with children for the Easter Egg Hunt."
The Bushes posed for pictures with families at the event, which was closed off to the public in the early morning hours. Attending at the event's start were White House staff, youth volunteer groups, kids from the Gulf Coast region and other invited guests.
Thousands of eggs were dyed in pastel colors for the egg roll races, as well as for an egg hunt. Other eggs were available for children to color, as people dressed up as characters including the Easter Bunny strolled around the South Lawn.
The White House egg roll has been a tradition since the mid-19th century. The celebration took place on the Capitol grounds until 1878, when it was moved to the White House by Lucy Hayes, wife of President Rutherford Hayes
Cleansing My Colon
Did you know:
Every day your body is exposed to toxins that can build up inside. Some experts recommend an internal cleanse three to four times a year to remove impurities and restore balance. It's been estimated that when we regularly keep the colon clean, we're 90% of the way to good health. The colon is the place where food collects as waste material after nutrients have been extracted and sent to the bloodstream. Retained debris in the colon leads to the absorption of toxins and its multitude of consequences-a feeling of sluggishness being the most common among them.
Weekend Escapades
After the shower, my cousin, sister-in-law, and one of the bridesmaids asked me if I wanted to go across the street and have some lunch. So I think this sounds fabulous since I'm starving. Once we get over there, they decide to have a beer. Did I mention we went to 1 of the 3 local bars in town? And that they are planning on opening up another bar? All on the same street. Main Street, of course! So they have beer, and I'm good and have a Diet Pepsi. Then after we eat, we decide that we want bloody mary's. Well, the bar we are in doesn't have a liquor license (This means they can only sell beer) we had to bar hop to the bar up the block. Mind you, this was 12:30-1:00 tops. We were already Bar hoping at 1:00 in the afternoon! Crazy.
So we go to the local liquor store, and it's totally happenin' with like 5 old men that probably have a drinking problem, and one table full of bikers. So the 4 of us take up a table and order our drinks. 5 drinks later, we decide to call our husbands and let them know where we are since we were supposed to be at a shower. This is probably about 4:00 by now. So our men show up around 6 or 7. I don't quite know because I was plowed. We had taken up to playing pool by this time. My man, comes in to the bar, and sits down with the other men at the bar. He doesn't even come talk to me first! I didn't even know he was in there. What a creep! Creep I tell you! So we wound up having more drinks because they were now free, now that the men were buying. Long story short, I drank for 10 hours on Saturday. I went home at 10:30, left my husband at the bar, (They were going to go up to the local American Legion, and play some darts) and went to bed. I woke up feeling fine in the morning though!
So Sunday morning church. My in laws sang a couple songs, it was quite cute. Then we head to the farm house. I am totally starving because I hadn't eaten the night before, and now I am being tortured by the smell of ham cooking. My mother-in-law decides to cook us some cinnemon rolls. So we eat those, and then I pass out on the couch for a while. I wake up to an announcement to get to the table. So we do. And we wait. and wait. So I say to my mother-in-law, is this some form of torture because I was sleeping on your couch? ha ha ha! I'm so funny! So we finally ate. And I ate... and ate... and ate. Buy the time it was time to eat Dinner, I was still full from lunch, but I ate and ate a second time anyway. The ham was so good. It was like I had not seen food before. Yummmmm... Now my mouth is watering because I want more ham.
Then we had an egg toss outside. This was the newest in-laws idea. It was totally fun! We all picked a partner, and had to throw an uncooked egg back and forth, getting farther apart each time we were successful until one couple was left. It was totally fun. We got pretty far away too. Unfortunately, my loved husband through one of my eggs too hard, and I caught it above my head and crushed it. It was not pleasant. But I got him back. One other time, I cought it and cracked it. But didn't tell him it was cracked. So when he caught it the next time around, he got it good. tee hee hee. Egg tosses are fun!
So what did y'all do? Anything fun? Are there any fun games or traditions that you do during family get togethers?

Finally! Some Rest Came My Way.
My townhome has one fault. It is on the east side, so it's totally hot in there. Plus, with my iron on and me standing under the low hanging light in the dining room, I've been heating the place up to 80 degrees everynight. Eventually I'll put the table under the light, and move my sewing stuff into the spare room, but right now, I have boxes everywhere and no time to put it all away until my bridesmaid project is complete. I'm starting to pick up momentum on those, and last night I had planned to stop at 9:00 so I could relax and wind down, but I didn't want to. I had to force myself to stop. So I think I'm in the mood now. Hopefully I will knock them out fast now. So this morning I turned on the airconditioner so wee wittle bunnie wouldn't have a stroke. Even with the windows open it's hot. I'll post pics tonight when I get home.

1 Mother's Bridesmaid Dress: Top, Skirt, Jacket

1 Bridesmaid skirt started and waiting for a fitting
1 Bridesmaid top started and waiting for a fitting
1 Mothers top started and waiting for a fitting

I now have the Flowergirl dress mostly finished. All I have to do is hand sew the lining
So that leaves:
3 Bridesmaids tops
2 Bridesmaids skirts

1 Bridesmaids jacket

My Grand Scheme is Working!
Here is the headcount at my old office
3 Allocators - Gone
2 Buyers - Gone
1 GM - Fired
OK. That last one isn't a good thing, but I'm glad people are leaving. It really sends a message to the HR department that things are grossly awry in Merchandising. They just fired the only GM that made his GM Plan this year. And last year too. Which makes no sense to me at all. Why aren't they firing the GM who hasn't produced positive numbers in 2 or 3 years? Logic escapes me. This company is totally a model of what NOT to do in the new millenium for business.
As of yet, I don't think they have even started to replace the allocators, and I am thinking they will lose at least one more, either to another department, or to another company as well. Greatness.
Thank God I am no longer there. I am free! I am free!
What is this World Coming To?
Updated 4/13/2006 11:10 AM ET
LEOLA, Pa. (AP) — Police checking on a home in a tiny southeast Pennsylvania town discovered a gruesome scene: the bodies of six people, some wrapped in sheets and blankets in the basement, and blood, bone fragments and a hammer upstairs, authorities said Thursday.
Police in East Lampeter Township, just outside Lancaster, said they were speaking to a "person of interest" early Thursday and hoped to release more details later in the day.
The discovery of the bodies in the three-story house on Leola's Main Street followed a series of phone calls to 911 Wednesday afternoon.
John Sean Adams, 24, a friend of homeowner Jessie L. Wise, met the first officer at the house. He said Wise had called him from New York concerned about his family because he hadn't heard from them since Friday. They were planning to visit Wise in New York, according to a search warrant affidavit filed in the case.
When the officer and Adams went inside, Adams stopped halfway down the basement steps and yelled, "They're all dead! All six of them are dead!" the affidavit stated.
Authorities didn't immediately say how the victims died except that one had an obvious head wound. Four of the bodies were found wrapped in sheets and blankets in the basement, one at the bottom of the steps wrapped in a comforter secured with a phone cord, the affidavit stated.
Police also found dark marks that looked like blood on the walls and ceiling of two third-floor bedrooms. The beds had been stripped of sheets and blankets.
Lancaster County Coroner G. Gary Kirchner said he had yet to positively identify the six and planned to start the autopsies Thursday morning.
Police received the first call about a concern at the house in Leola, a small village in Lancaster County's rural Amish country, around 1:30 p.m. The person called back a few minutes later to cancel the request for help, then called again at 2:05 p.m., according to the affidavit.
The affidavit does not identify the caller but says Adams met East Lampeter Township police Officer Samuel Sanger at the home.
According to the search warrant, police were searching the property for fingerprints, weapons, a hammer and phone cord, as well as anything wrapped around the victim's necks. They were also seeking personal effects and financial information related to the victims.

Spring is Here?
Plus, I really need a tan right now.
Oddly As it May Sound
Weekend Excitement
Well, some of you know that I had a busy weekend ahead of me last week.
Friday: We had tickets to the Kenny Chesney concert with opening acts Sugar Land, and Dirks Bentley. We had invited my brother-in-law and his wife along with us, so I was not sure what to expect since I haven't ever really hung out with the both of them in a public setting. It turned out to be a fun weekend. We headed downtown early to get some dinner, which didn't pan out because everyone had that same idea. So we wound up eating in the stadium. I had a yummy bratworst, and beer. The funny thing about this concert is that they were selling rum drinks. I am thinking this is because Kenny is known for his love of the tropics. So that was fun. Even though the drinks were $9 a glass. A SMALL glass. They have a new invention out by the way. They are pilsner glasses with lights around the base of the glass. So now you can buy a glass to go with your glowing magnetic earing, as well as your flashy light pin, and of course, top it all off with your glow stick. Actually, if they weren't $10 I would have bought one. I thought they were actually pretty cool. The concert starts at 7:30 with Sugarland. That girl can really sing! I was impressed. Then Dirks Bently. Now, I have never been on the "he's so dreamy" band wagon. But there really is something about him that makes him sexy. I don't like his curly hair, or his cockyness. But he was pretty sexy on that there stage. He gave a pretty good show, and played with the girls in the front row. I now wouldn't mind if I could make out with a little Dirks. ;o)After Dirks came Kenney. Now what a show that was! I don't want to ruin the details of the concert for those of you that are planning on seeing the show, but you will definately NOT be dissapointed! We were on our feet the whole time, completely entertained! From his opening song to the very end, when he stands on stage signing autographs. We stayed and watching him interact with people, until he went back stage. Then we decided we better leave. He totally seems like a really nice, genuine guy. I'd totally do him. I have a new found respect for this man. His show totally rocked! My feet were killing me by the end of it because the energy was so high, we didn't sit for 5 hours! I begged my husband to carrie me to the car, but once again, because he "doesn't want to spoil me" (this is what he says when he doesn't want to do something for me.) he refused.
Death of a Family Pet
Backstory: For those of you who don't know, my cat that I have had since ummm... 1990 maybe, and yes, who's name is Shithead, finally went on to kitty heaven. I know you might think it's mean to name a cat Shithead, so here is the story of why we went about naming him this. It is quite amusing. My sister found this tiny little black kitten. OK. He friends cat had babies, but she told out parents that she found in somewhere. (She was always "finding" stray pets back then.) Almost immediately the cat took a liking to me. It was black with white paws and a little white patch on his chest. Very pretty kitty. So we fed it milk. (Yes, this is bad to feed little kitties, but my sister and I were young and dumb.) After showing him where it's litter box was, we put him on our bed and went to sleep. My cat Baca wasn't speaking to me at the moment, because he was pissed as hell that we had this other thing in our room, so I guess he was sleeping elsewhere that night. In the middle of the night I am awakened by this loud meowing. "mew mew MEW MEW!!!" So I wake up, and the kitten is on my pillow. (Where he fell asleep, right next to my head) So I pet him, thinking he's scared, or hungry or something. So I'm petting him, and suddenly he craps all over my pillow. And since we had fed him milk, it was nastier than normal! He was trying to tell me he had to shit, but he couldn't jump off the bed to get to his litter box. Poor guy! So for that reason, and other minor stories, we nick named him Shithead. He was also a little wise guy. "Shithead". During this time, we were all trying to decide on a name for him. So we were all calling him Shithead. Then about 2 months later, we realized that he knew his name as shithead. So we gave up on coming to agreement with his name, and there it was. A cat named Shithead. (Note: Around the public, aka the Vet, and kids, his name is Kitten.) Shithead was a little shit when he wanted to be. But a smart little shit. He loved to sit in high places and wait for you to come around the corner, then wack you with his paws. He wouldn't normally use his claws unless you were roughhousing with him. One time he snagged the dog. That was when the dog was a puppy, and I'm sure he deserved it at the time! ha ha ha! He also loved to cram his big body, into little shoe boxes. This was hilarious to watch! He used to fit when he was little, but when he got bigger, he would still try to cram himself into the box. He has broken many a good shoe box because of this. I'm going to try to find a picture of my cat in a shoe box to post. It is totally hilarous.
It turns out, my parents were on vacation in Hawaii when he died. My sister was watching him. Now, as shitty as my sister is. She's very sensitive when it comes to death. She once killed a mouse she bought because she hid it in the bathroom so Shitters and Baca wouldn't eat it. It wound up dieing probably because of the heat fluctuation in the bathroom from showering, etc. We had it for a weak, and she balled for at least 2 when it bit the dust. So I feel totally bad that she was the one that had to be there with him. She took the day off of work to sit with him so he didn't die alone. This I appreciate, because nothing made me feel worse when I found out Baca had died. He just left one night and never came back. I suppose he crawled under a tree and died. He was very old and on the edge for a long time, so I was prepared, but I still feel bad to this day that he died alone. Even though they are just pets, we have loved them for a long time, and they have become members of the family. I know it had to have been very hard on her, and I'm sure she's going to take a long time to recover.
I'm going to really miss that cat. I still miss Baca, now I am without them both.So now my parents are down to one pet.
1 stubborn Cocker Spaniel named Cody, who is my dad's sidekick. When he is pissed at my dad, he pees on his pillow to let him know about it. I'm sure it's also to let my Dad know who's REALLY the boss.

KB = Suburbanite???
Answer: Apple, Apricot, Guava, Orange, Papaya, Passion Fruit, and Pineapple. Wow. No wonder I like Hawaiian Punch!
On my way to work, I drive through a suburban area. Fit with School Zone and everything. Everyday on my way to work I see moms and dads walking or riding bikes with their kids to school. This is such a cute site! Then on my way home I see moms with strollers walking their kids to the park down the way. With the occassional hot college student jogging as well. Gotta love a hot hunky guy jogging.... Anyway. My point is, I think it's sort of nice. I want to go walk to the park! (With my dog of course. Which I don't have.)So could it be, that I actually might like living here in FND? I realized the other day while driving home, that I've always lived in the middle of hustle and bustle. I've always loved the area's of which I've lived, but maybe I was missing something. I always drove to work and home through shopping malls, strip malls, grocery stores, etc. So I never really entered the suburban area of the worlds I lived in. Unless you count when I would visit my one friend who owned a house. And then it was fun because the Mexican Icecream Truck would come by and I'd be like, "What is that anoying bell ringing? Doesn't that dude really get sick of ringing it?" So anyway. I'm not sayin' anything, but maybe this move won't really be the end of me after all.I really want to get a dog. I'm thinkin' Pomeranian or Shelty. I've been wanting a Shelty for about a year and half now, but I just love the poof ball that is a Pomeraranian.

The Brown puppy is the Shelty. White stuffed animal looking pups above are Scottish Terriors. The black bear-looking pup is a Pomeraranian. How can I choose with these cute little faces!

Another Idiot Spotting
Today, I'm sitting at a light (in my car) and am waiting for it to turn so I can turn left. I hear a horn honk. So I look. Two lanes to my right, about 3 car lengths back, I see this guy BACKING UP in the middle of lunch hour traffic. The guy coming up behind him was the one honking. He definitely was a justified honker! So I watch this reversing idiot. He reverses, then pulls up behind me. TWO LANES OVER to the left. Why did he feel the need to back up to do this maneuver when he would have had plenty of room to just pull forward into that lane? No one will ever know. Not even the idiot knows, because he's forgotten his reasons for doing it himself by now.
So for all of you drivers out there that aren't very good navigators. Here is a tip. Under NO circumstances should you stop or back up on a government street when there are cars coming at you. This also includes Freeways. I once saw some woman come to a complete stop on the freeway, and back up to get on the exit. Instead of backing up to correct your mistake. Take the next exit, or turn around when given the SAFE & LEGAL ability. It's just not worth the pain and suffering you could incur on someone else should your luck run out and something goes arie. It's not the end of the world if you miss your exit or turn! There will be a chance for you to correct that mistake! I promise!
Here's why I don't tolerate idiots. There is no possible reason for an adult human to be an idiot. There are schools that you should have learned something in, and if you for some reason didn't go to school, you still have people in your life that you should be able to talk to - and hopefully learn a thing or two from. And if you don't have any people in your life, then there are free libraries, magazines, etc. There just is no reason for a person to be an idiot.

Little annoyances
If anyone knows the answer to this question, please blog me. I could really use the help!
Thanks!
Addendum to Previous Blog
know, I have a very low tollerance for idiots.
I mean come on people! If you live in this country you should know there are 50
states, and what those states are. And if that takes up too much brain capacity
then by GOD at least know the neighboring states to the state you live in.
That's not too much to ask is it?
Have I ever told you how when I said I was from Albuquerque, New Mexico, idiots
would say, "Oh, your from Mexico!" and then I'd correct them, and
say, "No, New Mexico." "Yeah right, Mexico". Idiots.
Another one I love is, "Do I need to add more postage when I mail this to
you?" Ummm... No... New Mexico wasn't added to the union until 1912 as
the 46th state, but it's still part of the union.
Here are a couple links I like to help YOU brush up on your state knowledge.
Please pass this on to any idiots you may find on your way as well. And thank you
for your support.

Idiots and the City
“You know, I am now going to have to end my three-year long crusade to convince people that North Dakota does not exist. I have never met anyone from there, and came to the conclusion that it was just a government farce to make us think there were 50 states, when there are really only 49. Then again, I won't believe it until I visit you and see for myself...”
Hilarious! As much as I would love this to be true, because then I wouldn’t have to live here, I have to say, alas. It is true. North Dakota really does exist. It’s actually turning out to be somewhat pretty. If you can get over the flatness of it all. And the subdegree freezing temperatures in the winters. The cold is starting to get better. Yesterday’s high was like 55 degrees out! I actually got into my car, and it was nice and toastie! And then this morning I was greated by a couple birds chirp chirp chirping outside on my balcony. They were quite orchidaceous. I have missed the warmth! I hope it comes back to me soon!
Now getting to the title of this here blog. Yesterday and the day prior, I had been trying to call this one Uhaul place in the Cities (For those of you who don’t know which cities, Minneapolis/Saint Paul are so close together they are called the Twin Cities. Actually, the only thing that separates them is the river.) So the dude is an idiot. Day one, he was “so busy he’d have to call me back”. He never called me back. Day two, I called for pricing, and after he went through a bunch of gibberish for just a price quote.
Me: “I am looking for a one way to Fargo”.
Him: “Ummm… Errr….. Is there another city near there?
Me: “No, that’s pretty much the big citie in Fargo.”
Him: “That’s North Dakota right?”
Me: “That’d be the one”.
Him: “Let me call you back, I messed something up in the system.”
Me: “OK,” Knowing that I won’t be called back, but I give him the benefit of the doubt.
That was at 9:00am. So I call back at 9:40 and get some woman. This makes me happy because I was hoping for someone else. You know, someone who knows what’s going on in the universe. So I first tell her, “I called this morning at Nine and got some guy that said he’d call me back because he screwed something up. That was fourty minutes ago, and I haven’t heard from him. So I am hoping you can shed some light.” Her: “ha ha ha! “ She is laughing entirely too hearily, “That would be Mike. What can I help you with?” So I tell her my story, and she starts to look it up.
Me: “I’m looking for a one way to Fargo”
Her: “Fargo… That’s in North Dakota right?”
Me: “Yes, Mike asked me that too. You guys really should know this stuff, the cities are not that far away, and ND is your neighboring state.”
Her: Again with the freakish laugh, “Well… I do know where Fargo is, I was just verifying.”
About this time I am thinking to myself. I’m going to go online and see if there are any other Fargo’s in this country. The answer? So far as I can find on the internet. This is the only Fargo.
Then she says, “Well, the only trailers we have need to come back to this location.”
Me: “Well, can you get one that I can take one way?”
Her: “I don’t know trailors, I just know trucks. You’d have to talk to Mike about the trailors. I’m just not too sure.
Me: “Well, he didn’t really seem to know much, so I was hoping to speak with someone who did.”
Her: Laughing way too heartily again. What? Does this happen all the time? These two are just two idiots in a pod or what? “Well, you could call the Coon Rapids Uhaul and see if they have some. Or I can have Mike call you back.”
Me: “Well, I suppose he could call me back, but I am still hanging on from yesterdays call back. Tell him to call me back then.”
Are you wondering???? No, he still has not called be back. Bastard. What idiots these people were. But before you or I write off doing business with the Uhaul people, I did call the Coon Rapids, Matt knew what was going on, booked me a trailor (The one I wanted and everything), and set up a reservation without any pain to me. I made sure to thank Matt for knowing what was going on with his Uhaul business, and told him how the Crystal location really had no clue. He just laughed, and said thank you.

Day Two at the Office
Tonight my twenty year old sister-in-law invited me over for crock potted chicken, potatoes, and stuffing (Stove Top of course!) So I went over, and we watch American Idol. It was pretty fun! She’s totally nice, and smart, and cute, and non back stabbing. Nothing like my real sister. It’s great! She even lent me a blanket for my blow up mattress. Of course, I brought a blanket, but apparently, I get cold when I sleep these days. In the Texas days, all I used to use was this one blanket to keep me warm. No mater what time of year. Then after I got married, I was forced to sleep under both the comforter and sheets! I must have gotten used to it, because the only time I woke up last night was when I was cold, and the only thing I had to make me feel warmer was to go get my towels. So I used them for blankets. So tonight I told her my pathetic little story, and she lent me her comforter. Not even with a side note of, “you owe me one”, or “are you gonna pay me for this?” Like someone closely related to me would have. Who knew sisters could be so great?
My second day at work went pretty well too. I was shown how to do one thing, and then I did that all day long. It is preparing a report that has been neglected since January 3rd. So I have a lot of work to do to gather the proper information, and enter it into the proper data points. So, it’s slow going, but I’m feeling more comfortable. I even went to lunch with some girls in the office. Not in my actual department, but in the marketing department. So I’ll have to make sure I venture out of my little area tomorrow just to say hi, so maybe I can make some friends right away.
I thought it was going to take big D at least until tomorrow to start missing me, but he actually called me tonight, and I can tell he missed me. It was nice! I thought for sure that it’d take him a couple days of him running around and doing his own thing to miss me. :o) Ahhh… He does love me after all!
My First Day at the Office
I got in to the sister-in-laws apartment around 10:30pm. All I really wanted to do was go to sleep, but since I was crashing on her couch, no such luck. Her fabulous boyfriend was there. She was cutting his hair, which I thought was really cute. I was surprised that he would trust her enough to be able to sit there while she snips snips and snips. They finally went to be at midnight. Do you think this means that I got some sleep? Of course not! She is a college student, and lives in the Ghetto. Her walls were so thin that I could hear the upstairs neighbors talking. I could literally hear what they were saying. Stupid me, I didn’t bring my ear plugs with me. So I attempted to make some using toilet paper. This helped a little bit, but I still couldn’t get to sleep. These shit-heads… OK. Maybe they weren’t shit heads, but who in their right mind stays up so late on a SUNDAY?! They didn’t go to bed until maybe 4:00am. FOUR OCLOCK! This is the last time I remember clocking on my cell phone before it went off at 6:00am. So either I just finally fell into a deep coma, or else they finally fell silent. So after I well gotten 2 hours of sleep, I get up and get ready for my new job, and of course, that lovely Piss test! (Follow-up, I was unable to take it as scheduled on Friday, so I had to make arrangements to take it before my orientation this morning.)
So I get to the clinic at 7:30am right as they are opening up for the day. I am literally the 4th person in line. Want to know how long it took me to get called into the little room to pee? An hour? They didn’t offer me anything to drink during that whole hour, so I couldn’t go when it was time to go. So then they make me drink two 40oz bottles of water, and then I am forgotten about. So an hour later, when I am ready to piss out my mouth, I hunt down the nurse that was helping me and I tell her I’m ready. She goes, “has it been long enough?” OK. If I have to wiz so bad that I can feel it in my teeth, I think it’s been long enough! I politely say, “Yes, it’s been an hour, and I can’t wait any longer.” So she takes me to the back room, and then disappears! I seriously almost just took my pants down and pissed all over her desk. I was so ticked off. Then another girl comes in and tells me, “please fill it to at least this black line.” I look at that line, laugh and say, “that will definitely not be a problem.” Do you want to know what I think is nasty? Well, other than this whole process. This stupid nurse would’t let me wash my hands until she was done processing my little vile of treasure. Now why is this???? She has my pee, so I obviously can’t tamper with it any longer, so why do I have to sit there feeling nasty and dirty while she takes her sweet little time doing her thing? Why I ask? Why?
So then I get to the orientation at 9:30. Mind you, my orientation started at 9:00. I am late. But that’s OK, because the HR lady is so nice, that she is just going to go over the paper work part with me later. So I get in the room, and she disappears to find some other person who was late. So there we are. Maybe 6 new employees, sitting in this room. Staring off at the walls in silence. So then we get started. We cover standard policy, etc, and then she mentions that we have an annual company picnic! I’ve always wanted to work somewhere where they have a company picnic! They rent out an entire park, and fill it with activities against other departments and stuff. It sounds like so much fun! I can’t wait! We also have a Christmas party, and lots of philanthropy events throughout the year. This also excited me, I hadn’t realized how much my old company really did bite in regards to treating their employees like living, loving, dreaming, feeling, humans. Then we took a tour of their DC, which they call, “operations”. They have some pretty high tech things going on out there. I was pretty impressed! Then we toured the customer call center, and I met the man I’d do if I was single. He was so hot. I can’t remember his name, but it was something very grizzly. It didn’t match how hot and sexy he was. I found myself looking around to see if anyone else was drooling.
Then after all that, they sent me up to my office area. This disappointed me a bit, because we are back in the corner of the building, so it sort of feels like a cave. There are a total of 6 of us on my team. Two Internet Merchandise Specialists, One Copywriter, One Web Builder, and One Statistical Analysis guy. (I don’t know what his real title is. Ask me again in a week.) Then I learn what it is that I will truly be doing. My new manager tells me that she is making me the Lead Project Manager on a new account. This is exciting! I am also already scheduled to travel! Woo hoo! I am going to a convention in Chicago around the end of April, and to another one in June. This one in June is totally exciting to me because it is one that I is sponsored by an internet retailer publishing that I read often.
So now it’s about 9:00pm. I’m sitting on the floor in my empty apartment. I went out and purchased a few tv dinner type meals for both lunch and dinner, have put away the few things I could fit into my car, and am fixin’ to go to bed. Yes. Bed at 9:00. I can’t wait to crawl onto my blow up mattress, and curl up into a sleeping ball of mush. Night night!
