WW Update - Week 2
Yikes!

I just have to keep chanting, "I love my husband, I love my husband, I love my husband." Since he's the reason I'm up here anyway. But since he's done nothing but come home, be grubby, and sleep on my couch for the past 4 work days. It's sort of hard for me to appreciate him to his fullest. :o)
Pray for me.

Weight Watchers Update
Here is the deal. To lose the amount of weight I want to lose, I can only have 25 points a day. Then they throw in this "extra 35" points for the whole week, just in case you go out to eat or something. So yesterday I had 28 points. I made a chocolate ugly cake (Tastefully Simple Product) for DJ because he had a hard day at work, and I wanted to be a good wife. (50's style apparently. A way to man's heart is through his stomach you know.) So that little piece of cake put me over. And you know what. It wasn't even that satisfying. I should have just had my little two point pudding. Then I would have made it exactly.
This morning I woke up so hungry I thought my stomach was eating me alive. So when I got to work, I ate two hard boiled eggs instead of one, and really wanted to eat my yogurt too, but didn't. (For fear of the points. The points! The points! The points will get you!) Then in my 10:30 meeting I swear peoples heads were turning into steaks, chicken cutlets, and Qdoba burritos. I even thought one girl was doodling steaks. I was wrong. It was underwear. (I didn't bother to ask what that was all about.)
If things keep up like this, I'm going to have to call this the hungry girl campaign.

Ouch!
Anyway...I found this "Get Fit Without the Gym" article and thought the stuff it tells you to do sounded pretty easy and so I printed it out and put it somewhere visible in my office. I have done the "Seated Quad Shaper" three times this week, and the "Break-Time Butt Drill" once. My butt and abs are a little sore today and this must be why. I can really feel it when I walk up and down the stairs. I actually can feel my abs being worked out when I do the first excersise, and I don't feel like I'm doing anything anyway. I actually do that one two or three times in one day. OK. Just yesterday I did it 3 times. I think I'll try to put them all into a rotation, and maybe I can skip the gym forever!

In The News
Yep. We're so popular, they're writing national articles on us. ;o)
Here's the article:
15 Great Cities for Job SeekersBy Meg Donohue, CareerBuilder.com writer The harsh truth of job-hunting is that in some cities, no matter how hard you look, there just aren't enough jobs to go around. Since a low unemployment rate is an indication of a city with a proportionate number of jobs for its population, it stands to reason that cities with minimal unemployment rates represent promising economic environments for job seekers. The 15 cities in this list have unemployment rates well below the national average (4.5 percent in December 2006, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics). To create a comprehensive portrait of the employment conditions of each area, we've also included the mean annual wage as well as the most prevalent local industries and occupations. Local chamber of commerce and tourism Web sites are additional resources for job seekers interested in learning more about a specific location.

A Joke from My Father
A man and a woman were driving down the road, arguing about his deplorable infidelity when suddenly the woman reached over and sliced the man's penis off.
Angrily, she tossed it out the car window.
Driving behind the couple was a man and his 6-year-old daughter. The little girl was chatting away at her father when all of a sudden the penis smacked their car windshield, stuck for a moment, and then flew off.
Surprised, the daughter asked her father, "Daddy, what the heck was that?" Shocked, but not wanting to expose his little girl to anything sexual at such a young age, the father replied, it was only a bug, Honey."
The daughter sat with a confused look on her face, and after a moment said "Sure had a big dick, didn't it?"

Alyssa Lies
just the other day,
on the playground at school
between the tires and the swings
But she came home with tear-filled eyes,
and she said to me "Daddy, Alyssa lies"
Well I just brushed it off at first,
'cause I didn't know how much my little girl had been hurt
or the things she had seen.
I wasn't ready when I said "You can tell me"
and she said...
"Alyssa lies to the classroom,
Alyssa lies everyday at school,
Alyssa lies to the teachers
as she tries to cover every bruise"
My little girl laid her head down that night to go to sleep.
As I stepped out the room, I heard her say a prayer so soft and sweet
"God bless my mom and my Dad
and my new friend, Alyssa
*oh*I know she needs you bad
Because Alyssa lies to the classroom,
Alyssa lies everyday at school,
Alyssa lies to the teachers
as she tries to cover every bruise"
(bridge)
I had the worst night of sleep in years
as I tried to think of a way to calm her fears
I knew just what it was I had to do *I knew exactly what I had to do*
but when we got to school on Monday I heard the news
My little girl asked me why everybody looked so sad
the lump in my throat grew bigger
with every question that she asked.
Until I felt the tears run down my face
and I told her that Alyssa wouldn't be at school today
'Cause she doesn't lie in the classroom
she doesn't lie anymore at school
Alyssa lies with Jesus
because there's nothin' anyone would do
Tears filled my eyes when my little girl asked me why
Alyssa lies
*Oh Daddy, oh* Daddy tell me why
Alyssa lies

An Argument for Supplements
This morning, I woke up and the pain I felt before starting on supplements was back. I'm pretty sure I have arthritis developing in my fingers in my left hand. So apparently it takes about 2 weeks for your body to use up the supplements that you take on a regular basis. I've been taking a combo of Glucosamine, MSM, Evening Primrose Oil, Chondroitin, and Boron. Another great thing about all this is that the recommended use is that I take 1 pill three times per day, and I have only been taking it once a day.
So anyway. Although the best way to be sure you're healthy is to eat right. But obviously it's very rare that a person is going to be eating right 100% of the time. And even if a person does eat right 100% of the time, taking into account how much the worlds source of food is tampered with, i.e. stripped of it's original nutrients, and added extra nutrients, it's pretty hard these days to ensure you're body is getting everything it needs. In addition to all this, there are some things that you'd have to eat a lot of (Think of those Special K commercials where someone not eating Special K has to eat 18 bowls or something crazy to get the amount of fiber in one bowl of Special K.) to get the right amount of nutrients out of it for your body.
And I don't know about you, but I'd rather take an all natural supplement that my body needs anyway, rather than a bunch of chemically structured pills that my body wasn't meant to take in the first place.

My Vacation
I'm not going to bore you with details, but wanna hear a gross sister's boyfriend story? Of course you do!
Let's cut right to the chase. Turns out, he likes to pick his boogers. All the time. In front of crowds. While talking to you, sitting in a living room full of family... Then roll them around in his fingers for a while before either they disintegrate, or he wipes them somewhere. I don't know which. DJ had his own personal experience with it while he was talking to the guy. He just reached up there and dug for gold in the middle of the convo. And according to D, he really went to town. All the while, still talking. No apologies for the dig. Then the next day, we were all gathered in the living room watching football, he was in the front of the room, in front of the TV, (So in eye shot of everyone) just digging away, and then rolling it around. It was making me sick. I turned to D and told him not to shake his hand when they leave tonight. ha! The worst part was, once I noticed it, I was fixated on watching how many times he did it. He'd pick his nose, roll it around for a while, then pick his ear then go back to the nose. It was DISGUSTING! I don't ever remember him doing that when he and I were friends. It must be a new habit that my sister brought on. Maybe he does it so she will stay away from her. ha ha ha ha!
New Year's Resolutions Anyone?
I really wish I could stop associating with people who annoy the crap out of me, but I think that's an unrealistic goal.
I thought I'd dredge up a list I made last year and see how I'm doing with that one.
I think I did pretty well with it.
