Kohl's Activates Rooftop Solar Rollout

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. (September 28) -- Kohl’s flipped the switch on a rooftop solar energy system at its location here, as part of the launch of its photovoltaic solar rollout to 63 of its 80 California stores.

When completed, Kohl’s solar program will represent approximately 15 percent of California’s photovoltaic installations to date, and will generate more than 35 million kilowatt-hours of renewable energy annually, or the equivalent of powering an estimated 3,087 California homes.
The retailer is working closely with the State of California to help meet the goals set by Governor Schwarzenegger and the Public Utility Commission. Under the 2007 California Solar Initiative (CSI) program, the state expects to build solar power systems totaling 3,000 megawatts of power by 2017. At 25 megawatts, the total projected capacity of Kohl’s solar systems will be larger than that of the top five largest completed photovoltaic systems in the U.S. combined, the company said in a statement.

Way to go Kohls!  Almost makes me want to shop there.

Wardrobe

I HATE everything in my closet right now.  There are only 4 things in there that I like. Everything sucks.  I wish I was a shitty dresser so I could get on What Not to Wear and get a $5000 shopping spree.

Premiere Week

Is anyone excited about Premier Week?!  I am!  I haven't watched much TV in the past few months, and I totally forgot about the good shows that are out there.  What are you planning to watch?  Here is what I plan to watch, although I missed last nights premier's because I was at the hospital.  (More on that later.)

Shows I'll be repeating
Two & a Half Men (Mon. 8:00 CBS).  OK.  This is more a DJ pick.  I watch it because it's on, but it's actually sort of funny.

Rules of Engagement (Mon. 8:30 CBS).  This show was super hilarious when it was on for a couple weeks back in the day.  So hopefully it will stay that way.

Earl (Thur. 7:00 NBC). I might be checking out of this one this season.  But I was a fan last season.

The Office (Thur. 7:30 NBC).  A must watch for anyone who works in an office!

Grey's Anatomy (Thur. 8:00 ABC).  Of course! Don't even need to say anything more.

Nip Tuck (Fridays? ).  I can't for the life of me, figure out when this show finally returns to the air waves.  But I can't miss it!  I think it's going to be a great season!  The boys are starting over in LA.

Shows I'll be checking out
Dirty Sexy Money (Wed. 9:00 ABC).  Could be interesting.  It also has a drugged up Baldwin in it.  How could it go wrong?

Private Practice (Wed. 8:00 ABC). Wasn't too impressed with the spin off after Grey's, but I'll try to be loyal and remain optimistic.
Bionic Woman (Wed 8:00 NBC).  Interests me, but don't think I'll be watching regularly.  But I'll try and tune in to the first show during commercial breaks.  (I think I need a Tivo).

Damages (Thur 9:00 FX).  I hear this was really good. So I'm curious.  I'm going to try to remember when it's on so I can check it out.

Some other show.  I keep seeing previews of some show that is supposed to be the male version of Sex and the City.  As soon as I remember what that is, I think I'll tune in.  If I get to see as much D$ck and ass, as we "got" to see of t$ts and ass on SAC it should be a good show!

Shows that are on too late for me, but I'd love to watch them if I wasn't so old and had to go to bed

Oh What a Night

Well, last night was fun (insert sarcastic tone here).  I had to work at Macy's last night, and that was no fun because I wasn't feeling well.  Then, around 2:30 in the morning, I was woken up by crazy hard rain.  No warning, just POUND! POUND! POUND!  It was so hard I thought it was hailing.  Then it started thunder and lightning (ing?).  Right about the time, I was almost back asleep, it really did start to hail.  Super hard.  And since my town home is all upper level.  I was seriously worried about my roof.  It was so loud.  I got up to inspect the hail and see if I needed to save my hibiscus.  I kid you not, this hail was the biggest hail I've ever seen!  It ranged from quarter size all the way up to baseball size.  BASEBALL size.  After I saw the third baseball bounce off my patio like it was a rubber bouncing ball, I decided to let my plants fend for themselves. Since I don't have a football helmet handy, there is no way I was going to risk my life to save my poor precious plant.  I think those suckers would have knocked me out and I'd still be beaten and passed out on my patio this morning. Had I gone out there.

I also did a lot of praying for the hour this went on.  I prayed that our corn and bean fields wouldn't get hit.  If that hail reached it all the way to the fields, I think my husband is going to have a breakdown. This year has already been bad with all the flooding we had at the beginning of the season.  So I'm fixin' to call him in a few minutes to see what happened down south.  Hopefully the storm went northeast and missed them.

Last Night

Want to know what I did last night?  Froze corn and hemmed dresses.  Don't I sound like quite the farm wife and I don't even live on a farm?!

The sweet corn is ready right now, and man is it good!  You would think there isn't much difference from store bought corn and fresh picked corn, but there is!  I love this part of being married to a farmer!  Plus I've got Tomatoes, watermelons and squash to enjoy as well.  Yummmmmm.

Perfect Day, Shitty Night

I had a very good day.  Not to crazy at work, nice weather, blah blah blah.  Then I went to my second job.  All was well there too.  I made my sales goal, and got out of their in good time.
Headed to my car.
Got in car.
Car no start.
"WTF?!"

I was not a happy camper. After trying to start it five or six times, I decided to walk back into the building to try and call a cab. During my time of trying to start my car, I thought back to all the times Lilagirl and I had troubles with her car.  I swear, she had 3 cars in one year of high school and all of them died with starter issues.  We spent many an hour in parking lots pissed off at her cars.   So I sat there thinking of all the things that were wrong with her cars to try to figure out the problem with mine.  Then I decided, "Screw it.  I'm a girl.  I'm calling a taxi."

Turns out, some lady gave me a ride home.  So my crappy car is sitting at the mall.  DJ said he'd bring me up one of the crappy cars he has and take my car home with him to work on or have worked on.  Which makes me happy even though it's a pain in the ass.  But at least he's not making me tow my car to some expensive dealer here in town.

I'm going to run over there at lunch and see if it miraculously starts.  DJ thinks it might be an issue with my computer going haywire.  Figures.  Damn computers!  Down with Computers!  Oh wait, I take that back because if that happened, I'd be out of a job....
