Negative Seven

This morning when I came in it was NEGATIVE 5 DEGREES! It is now 9:00 and the temperature has fallen to NEGATIVE 7!!!!!

I have no idea what that makes it with the wind chill factor!

Pop Discovery

I hate Diet Pop. (For those of you in Texas, that's Diet Cokes to you. Even though Coke is a brand not a type of drink!) Well, I decided I better just suck it up and drink Diet when I get the urge to drink some soda. So I first went out to buy some C2. The new Low Carb Coke. Well, it turns out that Diet Coke has 0 Carbs, while C2 has 15!!!! Then at our Company Dinner they had Diet Dr. Pepper, and so I took a can. I am just now drinking it, and it's not too bad. There aren't any weird after tastes like Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi. So I think I can make this switch over now.

Woo hoo! Go Diet Dr. Pepper.

280 Car Crashes

Yesterday morning we had freezing rain. Apparently the salt truck drivers were all at home sleeping. There were a record of 280 Car Crashes yesterday. And another record of 116 reported Accidents within 1 hour! On an average DAY they report 140.

That's for all DAY!

This leads me to the question I've been asking myself over and over again.... Why am I hear???!!! Save me... Someone!

This Fabulous 5 Degree Weather

So I head out to work this morning. Pull out of my nice tuck under garage, and hear this "ticky ticky ticky sound". I realize that it is freezing rain hitting my windshield. Now, I must admit. I sort of felt like it was an old friend of mine that I have missed. Why you might ask? Well, because whenever it is cold in Texas, this is what happens. The crap always freezes when it hits something solid, therefore making for a wonderful clusterf*#ck on our highways. So I had no worries. I have driven in the freezing rain several times in Texas. Although it is no picknic because you have to beware of all the idiots on the road, but I have always handled my car pretty well.

So off I go to work. While driving out of my apartment parking lot, I slide a little, and my Traction Control light on my car goes off. AFTER I have slid. So obviously that warning light is useless. Then I get out onto the main street. (Luckily, I don't have to take the freeway to work). I'm sitting at the light, waiting to turn left, and watching these trucks and cars fish tail through the intersection, and I think to myself. This is going to be the longest drive to work I've had so far here! Plus, we'll see how well I fare driving this automatic car that I have. (For those of you who don't know, I have always driven a stick shift, and I am used to being able to shift to wherever I want to whenever I want to. So driving an automatic, I'm not sure how I'm going to fair.)

I actually do pretty well. Of course I hit every stupid red light there, so I got to practice starting up on ice everytime too. I got to work safely, and now all I have to do is sit here and worry about how many people are going to slide around in that ice slicked parking lot, and possibly slam into parked cars. So I'm sitting here crossing my fingers and praying that noone hits my car. I can't afford to have a messed up car. Plus, I like my car just fine the way it is! Man I miss the fabulous parking garage of Pier 1.

Wind Chill Factor

The radio just told me that it's 12 degrees out, with the wind chill factor it is -9 degrees!!!!

What did my husband do to me?!!!

Early Christmas For Me!

Friday night my husband was scheming yet another trick on me with his brother.

Before I got to Wheaton, he asked me if I wanted to go to Breckenridge to go to a movie (Oceans 12). So I thought, "That sounds nice, yes! Let's do that". So off to Breck. we went. Once we arrived at the theatre, he says, "Delane is in town shopping, I'm going to call him and see if he wants to see a movie." So Delane shows up and we all go into the theatre. I sit down, Darin sits, and then gets back up and says, "I have to go poop." So I'm like, "Oh no! He's going to miss most the movies!" In other words, it takes him a long time to poop! ha! Then his brother says to me, "I'm going to go smoke.". So there I am. All alone. In the theatre. Looking like a loser during the previews and the begining of the movie. With my popcorn and drink. I felt like a big fat loser!!!! Then Darin comes back shortly after the movies starts. "That was quick!", I say. Then Delane comes back and we all watch the rest of the movie.

One the way out, Darin suggests we all go get a drink. So obviously I say yes! He tells Delane to go get his car to warm it up, and that I need to wait for him while he pees. So I think this is strange becuase Darin is one of those that never goes to the bathroom, and here he is going twice in a 2 hour time span. So then, Delane drives up, Darin even OPENS my door to get into Delanes car, and off to the bar we go.

When we leave the bar, Darin tells Delane to just go home because he has to get some tractor part in Breckenridge in the morning, so we can just pick up my car later. So I kind of freak out because a. I don't want to leave my car anywhere, and b. All my stuff is in there for the weekend. But Darin tells me not to worry about it, and after fighting about it for a while, I give up. After all, he is my husband, and I trust him. So I suspect nothing.

The next morning it all starts coming together for me. Now that the alcohol is out of my system.
1. Delane is convieniently in Breckenridge shopping, but has no gifts in his car
2. It's weird that Darin has to poop at the begining of the movie
3. He came back way too soon if he did poop
4. He asks me to wait for him while he pees after the movie
5. I didn't actually see my car in the lot when Darin was wisping me into Delanes car

So I told Darin that I thought my car was getting Astro Start installed. And he confessed. I was right. Then he procedes to make fun of me for not suspecting all night. And my whole thing was he IS my HUSBAND, and I'm not suposed to suspect him. He calls this his Oceans 12, since his proposal was his Oceans 11. What a dork. I picture him and Delane humming the Mission Impossible theme to eachother all night long. But I don't mind, because I have the most fabulous Christmas present ever! Now my car will always be warm and cozy!

Christmas Shopping

So it's very nice for me to know exactly what everyone is getting for Christmas this year. The problem is, I ran out of money. I'm sure some of you have heard me complain that even though I am making more money, more of my money is being sucked out by the government up here because of State Taxes, and plus my higher rent, and new car payment... The thing is, I was just starting to feel on top of things again, and now Christmas is upon me. Luckily, I get to share the gift giving cost/burden with my husband, so I will at least be getting reimbursed 1/2 of all money spent. But that doesn't help me at the current situation. I am literally out of money. I still have to buy postage, and stationary for our Christmas Cards and get them sent out pronto. Plus, I have to finish purchasing the rest of the gifts. (Even though I know what and where to go to get them.) I will be very thankful when this season is over with, so I can get back to being on track with things! In two weeks we'll be in Albuquerque where I'm sure I'll drop whatever I haven't already on gas money (Thanks to my husband wanting to drive) on restaurants and clubs in an attempt to hang out with my good friends over the holidays. Why does the world have to revolve around money? Why can't we pay only for the things that are bad for us like, cigarettes and booze, and all else is free to us? Wouldn't that be grand? I think yes!

I Love My Buyer

My buyer is awesome! Some days, she's my only lifeline to sanity. So many people at my office take their jobs so seriously, that they have lost their sense of life. All they do is sit at their desks and pound away. Which obviously is neccessary right now since it is the heart of the holiday season and face it! This IS retail! But people hardly go out to lunch. And if they do they go out, get it and come back. They are so stressed out that they need a little bit of a break in the day to help them break the misery.

Well, I lately have been falling into that same rut. I've had so much work to do, plus, since no one else goes to lunch, then I don't either unless it's by myself. Plus, I'm trying to lose weight and save money, so I haven't been leaving. This is how I recognized the importance of leaving the office at lunchtime, if only for a few minutes in the day. I have gotten so bitter and pissy this week. Anyway, back to my buyer.

She inspires me. I can't remember many times where I have thought to myself, "I wish I had some of her traits" in my adult life. Well... Actually I can. There have been 2. But she has a way about her that says, "I am in control, I've got my poo together, but I'm not a bitch, and things are fun!" Her long drawn out meetings aren't so hard to bear because we joke and are silly as well as get business done. When I'm almost to the boiling point, she might pop in her head, and say something funny or dumb. Even when she's giving me a big ole pile of crap to day, she does it in a way that I don't really mind. Because she A. makes me feel appreciated B. Bribes me with flatery. ha! Anyway. I'm very thankful that I wound up with her, because other people's buyers are all work and no play, and they seem to be a lot more stressed out than my team is. Thank God for Sarah!

My Weekend Happenings

I took off from work early on Wednesday so I could get out of the cities before the traffic got too bad. I got home in lightning speed too! It was great! Big D was out in the field working, so I had several hours to sit on the couch and veg by myself. It was nice.

Thursday was pretty uneventful. We went to D's parents house, where we ate, sat around, then ate again. D pissed me off though because he refused to get off his ass, and go to my relatives houses for a little bit. And we all know how I can't stand to do nothing for a long period of time. Especially if it's not in my own home. In my own place, I can do nothing forever, but it's not like I can kick it up at someone elses house and be all relaxed and lounging. So by the end of the 12th hour of sitting on my ass, I was pretty pissed off. I had suggested bowling, going for a walk, going for a drive, going home, going to a movie, playing a game, and he had ignored all of those. And it's not like he didn't know I was trying to get out of there, because he also knows me well enough to know that I can't sit still for that amount of time. So.... Turkey day wound up with me being pissed off at my selfish husband for not even getting off his ass for an hour to go visit my relatives.

Saturday we went to Fargo to attend friends' wedding. That was nice. The reception was at the Best Western in Fargo, where we got a room. During the reception they put champagne bottles on all of our tables, so after the toasts I looked around for left over champagne. We wound up finishing off 3 bottles of champagne! ha! Plus whatever other liquor we were drinking at the time as well. I also discovered another good drink. Fussy Navels. They have peach snapps in them. yummm. Even though after two I don't think my stomache could have taken anymore. Too much acid. They also had the chocolate fountain I really wanted at my wedding! It rocked! The DJ didn't play very good music, it was all disco and old music. which is what I specifically told my DJ not to play. So not many people danced other than the wedding party. After D got drunk we dance to maybe 3 songs.

After the reception a few of us went back to his brothers hotel room to drink the bottle of crown D and I had left over from our wedding. We were up until 4:00am drinking. The security gaurd came to our door twice to shut us up. Dispite my best efforts to pimp out Darin's little sister, they gave us a warning and told us to shut up. Dang it! Pimpin' just doesn't pay like it used to!
At 4:15am, I dragged D's little passed out drunk sister to our hotel room, and went to sleep.
Darin came in later with this jack ass boy named Jed. I suppose your imagination will give you a good enough idea what this peace of crap guy was like. Obviously I was not too fond of him. So I slept with Darin's little sister to ensure that he didn't do anything shady to her in her passed out frame of mind, while he slept with my husband. Not really my idea of a good time, but I'd rather have had it that way than with that scumbag in the same bed as Dawn. So anywhooo.

The next morning, (9:00ish) I wasn't so bad feeling. Basically I was starving to death, and after I got some food in my system I was mainly tired. We decided Crown Royal isn't too bad to get drunk off of since it doesn't cause a headache the next day. :o) Darin and I attempted to shop at the mall in Fargo, but were more like zombies than humans. So we drove home...well, he drove home. I slept. When we finally got home I went straight to bed and woke up 3 hours later at 6:00. Then I got up, drove back to the cities, and went back to bed.

And here I am today! Tired, not wanting to work, and really loving cold moist water! And already missing my husband. :o(

Proud Like a Mommy

A few days ago, one of my closest friends informed me that she is finally getting out of her crappy job, (Crappy because she has a crappy boss that makes the work day seem more like a highschool popularity contest) and is starting to work from home with a company that sounds like they are pretty good. They are supplying her with all her needs. A new computer, seperate phone line, yadda yadda yadda. I am so proud of her for finally getting up the courage to do something new and different. It's hard for most people to step outside of their daily habits, and I know how hard it must have been for her to step out of her comfort zone and into a new realm. With this new job she will now be able to save money on childcare, and all that goes with that (ie gas, and time spent driving in rush hour traffic). She'll be able to spend more time with her children, and make twice as much money as she was making before! It's all so exciting!!! I hope it works out even better than expected for her! She deserves it!

Trim Spa

I'm thinking about trying Trim Spa. Anna Nicole was so nasty and lazy. I realize she probably had personal trainers to help her, but I think I should try it. I've already been eating less, and I am trying to start working out. So I think I'm going to try a bottle or two. They have a fat blocker that you take before you eat high fat foods like Mickey D's or Wendy's so I think I'm going to order both the regular pills and the fat blocker. They also have a carb blocker, but I don't really eat many carbs. So I can skip that.

I wonder if GNC sells this stuff or if I have to order it off the site....

Keep Lookin' Up!

Cuz That's Where it All Is!

Ahhhh... Listening to KKITM makes me feel less home sick. Sometimes they are dumb, and sometimes they are even boring, but I don't care. It makes me feel like I'm back in warm sunny TX. And if my cubical had a 3rd and 4th wall, I could even pretend I still worked for P1. Yes, those were the good ole days...

Why did I trade it all in for a man? Was it really worth it? My happiness in a carreer and lifestyle, or my happiness in my personal life?

I'm so lame, I ordered the Best of KKITM. ha! I bought the 3rd from the last one available.
I should get it in 7-10 business days. I plan to listen to it on my road trips back and forth to the little W on weekends.

Those Wacky Incredibles

D and I went to see the movie the Incredibles this weekend, and it definately did not dissapoint.
It was hilarious in spots, and definately kept my attention the whole time. Which is amazing for kids movies to do that. I usually get bored. This one wasn't neccessarily for kids though. The humor in it is very adult, but clean enought that mindless kids won't get the punch line, and will just think, "what a cute cartoon". I think everyone should go spend some money on it. Quite worth the $7 to me anyway.

Kidd Kraddick in the Morning!

I'm so excited! I have been missing good radio stations out here. They seem to all suck.
And especially in the mornings I've been missing my old radio show Kidd Kraddick in the Morning. So I got smart. I went to the web site to see what they were up to, and there is a place that I can listen to them on the radio. So I brought my speakers in from home so I can listen to them! woo hoo! (The office here doesn't supply speakers. Can you believe that?!)
The other great thing is that I can listen to the radio station online all day long if I want to. Woo hoo! So at least I can listen to Kiss FM and pretend that I'm in DFW.

God I miss DFW.

The Nerd That I Am

So, I was in an all day meeting on Friday. In this meeting, I pretty much contributed nothing. So what did I do? I wrote a note to my hubby. Just like High School! When I was finished with the note. I was still feeling like in High School, and started to doodle. I wrote, "I "heart" -you know, the heart symbol, not the word- Darin Anderson on the bottom of a sheet I was taking notes on.

Just now, I went in to talk to my buyer, and handed her the page. She saw it and goes, "What a dork you are." Points to my doodle. I started laughing so hard! I totally forgot about it. It's a good thing that I do retarded stuff like that all the time, so I'm used to it. I don't think I even get imbarrassed anymore.

Ahhhh.... Yes, I love my husband. And I am a nerd about it. But hey! It took up time in a really really REALLY long meeting!

My Weekend

I had a great Birthday weekend.

Saturday, Instead of moping I decided to invite my grandparents out to their old Steakhouse for dinner. I told them to invite whoever they thought would be interested. So I thought I'd have just the Saxes (My grandma and grandpa on my moms side), and the Bests (My grandma, my uncle, and my aunt), then Darin's Family (Brother, Sister, Mom, and Dad) show up.
Turns out I had quite a turn out! I felt special. It was very nice. My aunts and uncles from both sides of the family came out. I think we had a table of about 25. So we all sat around and ate and talked. It was fabulous, and good for my soul.

Then my uncle, cousin, and aunt were going to go out to one of the bars, so Darin, his brother, and I met them there. So then I got toasty. Which was doubly fun! ;o)

On Sunday, (My actual birthday) Darin gave me my present. It was a radar detector. Which was hilariously ironic becuase I was stopped driving in on Friday night for speeding. Doing 72 in a 55. It was great. I had told him a while ago that I wanted one, or at least wanted to steel his. So I was excited that he had gotten me one. Looking back though, he should have given it to me the week before when he bought it! ha!

Darin's mom had us over for dinner (which to us city folks is really lunch). She made chicken and all the stuff that goes with it. It was awesome. I somehow managed to not stuff myself silly. Then we were going to go bowling with some of my cousins from the night before, but Darin decided he should get some stuff out of the field since it was so nice. So I wound up hanging out with him on the Combine and driving grain trucks back and forth to the elevator. The best part of the evening was when we were finishing up with the trucks and about ready to come home when we noticed the sky. The northern lights were out something fierce. Not only were they shining bright. They were dancing around, fading in and out and making shapes. There were these huge rays coming down out of the sky, they looked like they were coming from heaven. (or possibly alien UFOs coming to snatch our bodies. Its a toss up.) I can't believe how far those beamed stretched, or how bright those lights were. They were just amazing.

Darin and I didn't get home until about 8:00. I usually start heading back to the cities at 6:00 which gets me here by 9:00 if I don't stop. I really didn't feel like leaving, and neither did Darin, so we decided to go to bed early and I'd get up at 3:00 am to head home. So I was up this morning at 2:45 heading home. The morning drive actually wasn't too bad. I can't see myself doing that every time I go to Wheaton, but at least it's do-able. I got home around 5:45 and decided that I'd nap for 15 minutes, then when my alarm clock went off I thought, "I don't need to go in at 7:30", and hit the snooze. So I didn't get into the office today until 8:30. I feel great! It was a good weekend.

Election Results

I'm so pissed off about the election results I think I'm going to go shopping.
Even though I have no money.

Maybe Bush will try to kiss our asses again and give us more money that the nation can't afford to give away.

I voted, Did you?

I took off at 9:00am to go find my polling place and vote. I timed it just right. There was not a line, I was able to register (Because MN is one of the few states that logically allows yout o register on the day of the election. I don't know why more states don't allow this. It leaves no excuses why an eligable person can't/didn't vote.) then vote within a matter of 10 minutes. It took me longer to drive to the polling place than it did for me to complete the process.
I was voter #343 when I fed the little ballot through the machine. Go me!

Yesterday's News

Yesterday, all the merchandisers were pulled into a conference room at 4:25pm.
After we all filed in, our CEO came in and told us he was stepping down at the end of the year.
I don't know what to think. But since this company wasn't doing very well in the past years, and this year we seem to be doing much better. I'm not so bad it's a bad thing, but it's still a little scarey.

Two major things I heard from the Rumor-ites yesterday:
  • "What if the new guy comes in and turns it all "corporate" on us?" --My secret thoughts on this matter... If that happened, I think it could just be a good thing. If the new person makes the office more professional, I think that buisness will follow. I've had many concerns about this issue, that I've expressed to several of my friends.
  • "I bet he was forced out." --My secret thoughts...It's probable. If a company has not been doing well for a long time, why wouldn't the shareholders or board or whatever want to out the guy that was at the helm?

I don't exactly know what I think about it. I am an advocate for change, so it doesn't really worry me too much. This change could make things a heck of a lot better around here. And if it doesn't make things a heck of a lot better, then I have a positive looking resume and can find something else that suits me. And if it is worse around here, then maybe that is a sign that this isn't the place I'm supposed to be. Know what I mean?

Here is the press release if anyone wants to read it:

For Immediate Release

Wilsons Leather Chairman, CEO to Resign

Joel N. Waller to Step Down by January 31, 2005

MINNEAPOLIS – October 28, 2004 – Wilsons The Leather Experts (Nasdaq: WLSN) today announced that longtime Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Joel N. Waller will step down by January 31, 2005. A search to replace Waller as Chief Executive Officer is currently underway and the Company expects to make an announcement regarding his successor within a month.

Waller, 65, who has been with the Company and its predecessors for 28 years and served as its CEO for 21 years, said the timing is right for a leadership transition.

Earlier this year, Wilsons Leather began an aggressive turnaround plan to improve profitability and strengthen its financial position. During the first half of 2004, the Company streamlined headquarters positions, closed two distribution centers and exited 111 underperforming stores to realign costs with revenue. And in July, Wilsons Leather secured $35.0 million in private equity financing. As a result, operating margins and comparable store sales have improved significantly.

“The business is on the right track for success,” said Waller. “We have a solid strategy in place and we have made excellent progress toward our goal of improving our overall business performance. As I transition my leadership, I’m confident that our strong management team will continue to advance our initiatives and drive Wilsons Leather forward.”

Under Waller’s leadership, Wilsons Leather has grown from a small regional concept to a nationally recognized brand. His vision has been integral to the success of the Wilsons Leather brand for more than a quarter of a century.

About Wilsons Leather
Wilsons Leather is the leading specialty retailer of leather outerwear, accessories and apparel in the United States. As of October 2, 2004, Wilsons Leather operated 453 stores located in 45 states and the District of Columbia, including 328 mall stores, 109 outlet stores and 16 airport stores. The Company regularly supplements its permanent mall stores with seasonal stores during its peak selling season from October through January.

Historical Look Back

I'm sitting here at my desk, thinking back on what happened on this day last year....

On this day last year, my sweet loving husband (then exboyfriend. That's right, you heard me) had already finished with harvest and chisel plowing. All except for one "small" strip of land. (I say small, because it's small in relation to the rest of the land that he owns/works. But in reality, it's quite a chunk of land.) On this day last year, he was chisel plowing his proposal to me in that strip of land.

I myself, was probably working at Pier1 and most likely was scheming up some sort of plan with my friend Cesar to make him jealous when I am back there for my cousin's wedding. Maybe I should talk about how great my new -all be it ficticious- boyfriend was. Or maybe I should bring someone along to act as my boyfriend....

Little did I know that he had a little scheming going on of his own. (Which really is a miracle in itself y'all. He never plans anything. He comes from the land of non-commitment.) Although signs were there that something was a'brewin', I didnt' have a clue, and didn't notice the signs until the proposal was in full swing.

I remember my wise friend Cesar telling me, "He's going to propose. What are you going to do if he proposes?!" And I remember telling him, "No way, he won't be doing that. And if he does I'll say no!" The reason for this crazy logic was because I had assumed that if the "creep" DID propose it'd be in some bad way such as proposing to me over diner or something uneventful. I just thought, at this point, since we're broken, and I he had not spoken to me about a. missing me, b. still loving me, or most importantly c. getting back together because he can't live without me, that there is nothing he could or would be willing to say to me to make me feel like I should marry him. Again, he surprised me there too. Although, to this day I only remember snipets of what he said to me in that airplane. I was completely taken off gaurd by what he said, and did that day. Shock and surprise sure do strange things to you. (like vomiting) I keep asking him to write it down for me, but he has not done that yet, and I suppose by the time I nag him enough to write it down, he'll have forgotten himself.

Anywho, back to my point. At this time last year, Darin was writing those famous words in his field, and probably causing himself an ulser worrying about what I'd say in two days. While I was sitting at my desk, worrying about being late for my flight.

Funny how fate always brings things together, even when you think things are completely over.
If it's meant to be, fate will eventually find a way. You can fight it, and prolong it. And probably cause yourself more heartache, but if it's meant to be it's going to be. Whether you want it to or not.

Sigh.... I love my husband. I'm so lucky to have him. (As he is me!!!) Boy, is that a change over from what I thought about him last year at this time! ha!

Something to Think About. Very Good Lesson

Dart Test...

A young lady named Sally, relates an experience she had in a seminary
class, given by her teacher, Dr. Smith. She says that Dr. Smith was known
for his elaborate object lessons.

One particular day, Sally walked into the seminary and knew they were in
for a fun day.

On the wall was a big target and on a nearby table were many darts. Dr.
Smith told the students to draw a picture of someone that they disliked or
someone who had made them angry, and he would allow them to throw darts at
the person's picture.

Sally's friend drew a picture of who had stolen her boyfriend. Another
friend drew a picture of his little brother. Sally drew a picture of a
former friend, putting a great deal of detail into her drawing, even
drawing pimples on the face. Sally was pleased with the overall effect she
had achieved.

The class lined up and began throwing darts. Some of the students threw
their darts with such force that their targets were ripping apart. Sally
looked forward to her turn, and was filled with disappointment when Dr.
Smith, because of time limits, asked the students to return to their
seats. As Sally sat thinking about how angry she was because she didn't
have a chance to throw any darts at her target. Dr. Smith began removing
the target from the wall.

Underneath the target was a picture of Jesus. A hush fell over the room as
each student viewed the mangled picture of Jesus; holes and jagged marks
covered His face and His eyes were pierced.

Dr. Smith said only these words... "In as much as ye have done it unto the
least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto Me."
Matthew 25:40.

No other words were necessary; the tears filled eyes of the students focused only on the picture of Christ.

Completely UnProfessional!

I sometimes cannot believe this place that I am working. The dress attire I am still getting used to and don't know if I ever will. How can a person get used to seeing these girls thong underwear, and bare bellies everywhere. I don't know how anyone could take them seriously as a proffessional. But I guess in this place, and perhaps state, they do.

About half an hour ago, I heard the departments VP/GMM in someone's office screaming at the top of her lungs about something she was clearly unhappy about. She was screaming, "God Damn blah blah", and other cuss words. Now. I don't know about what other peoples opinions are on this topic, but I think that is completely unprofressional, and if it were me she was screaming at like that I would not tolerate it. Even if she is a VP, there is no reason why someone in a position like that should act in such a childish and unprofessional manor. I could not believe it. This screaming went on for a good amount of time too. I don' t know how this person got into this position with a temper like that. That kind of verbage, and emotion really should be left for a persons personal time. There is absolutely no reason why that should have gone on in an office building in front of, and directed at collegues.

I think as a woman it's already hard to get the needed deserved respect from men in a workplace, and women that behave like this in the workplace, only make it harder for those that do deserve equal respect. As a woman, and as a professional, I can say that this person has definately lost my respect. I believe in a work environment, actions and reactions such as that should never happen, and should definately have not gone on for that long before she corrected herself. No matter what sex the person is. It not only reflects on that person, it also reflects on the company.

One Horrible Way for Me to Realize Just How Fat I Really Am

So, I admit it. I watched that stupid "Big Fat Loser" show last night. I think it might actually inspire fat asses like myself to do something about their horrible, grotest, and apparently publically apalling fattyness.

In the first 15 minutes of the show they required all "players" to weigh in. They are players because they are all vying to win $250,000 or something. The person who loses the most, wins. To my horrible shock. I only way 2 pounds less than one of the lard asses on that show. Is this not horrible? And a month ago I weighed more than her!!!!!! Is this not a horrible way to realize just how fat and ugly I really am? I looked at this girl and thought, it's OK there is no way I look like that though. I must be more muscular or taller or something... Aparently I was in denial. But this morning it is clear. I am just as horrifyingly fat as the people on that show.

This girl looked very round to me, and seemed to have a lot of round fluffy fat on her. I wonder if this is how people persee me? When I see myself, I see areas that need work, but I don't see big ole rolls of fat. I wonder if that is what other people see when they see me? I haven't worked out since before my wedding, when I lost a lot of weight (not as much as I would have liked becuase I had that accident, but still, I was pretty happy at the amount I had lost. Even though few people noticed) I attribute the lack of working out two reasons, a. No money to join a gym, and b. I don't like to just go lift weights. I like to do the classes, they keep me interested and motivated. So the little gym in my apartment complex has only held my attention once in the 3 months that I've been here. So, turns out, I'm not more muscular than this fatty on TV last night. I must look just like her to people around me.

Of course, I'm not in denial about my fattyness in the first place. But I in no way would have thought that I could have been a candidate for a show like this. Isn't that a horrible way to realize that you are morbidly obese instead of just pleasantly plump? I know I have my problem areas, but I didn't think I looked like a Wolly Mammoth to other people. So now I don't even want to be undressed in front of anyone. I just want to find baggy cloths and hide it all.

And to make it all worse, what is the point of even trying to make myself look good at this stage in the game anyway? My husband has has said that all women after having a baby have ugly stretch marks and just aren't as nice looking as they were before having the baby. Not even hot girls look good after they have a baby, or even the girls that work hard to get back into shape because the stretch marks are still there. So, even if I worked my ass off to look good now, it's not going to matter in a few years because my body will just be permanently ruined to him after I squeeze out one or two of his love children. So what's the point anyway??? Of course, there is the slim chance that I will be one of the lucky girls that doesn't acquire these lovely stretch marks. And maybe, just MAYBE that could be true if I don't lose weight, because the baby could just grow underneath all of my nasty fat, and noone will even know I'm pregnant. Then I wouldn't have any stretch marks, and after that I could work my ass off to look like a hot super model.

Before the wedding, on the rare occasion that I would go out and eat a full meal with a friend, I would get sick. (I'm sure this is a result of my dieting, and not eating big meals at one given time, and that I wasn't eating really rich foods, so don't think something is wrong with me.) This would happen not even at times that I would stuff myself. Just a couple bites, and I'd be sick. That was gross... but also kind of great, because I continued to lose weight. I think the Anorexics of the world aren't so bad off afterall. I mean, of course they are, because some people really have a problem where they weight 60 lbs and think they are fat. But people like me could probably benefit from their methods. I'm thinking more and more, that is the way to go on days that a person over does it. Maybe I should just stop eating altogether.

Wow

My manager just called me into her office to talk to me.
She told me that my buyer came in to talk to her about me.
Apparently, she thinks I'm doing a really great job and wanted to share it with my manager.
So my manager proceded to tell me what a good job I've been doing, and how I've been taking initiative and showing really good leadership in situations.

Wow. That was so nice to hear today! Go me!

Totally Stoked!

So, I was walking out to lunch (Alone as usual. I'll complain about that later) and my manager saw my "handbag". She totally thought it was cute. Then the garment manager looked at it and liked it too. They told me to show Randy, and the two handbag buyers. (Randy is the Big Manager guy) So, I showed it to the two buyers and they both like it and want to look into it.
I haven't showed Randy it yet, but I totally think it's cool that everyone likes my bags!
(Plus it helps since I'm thinking about making a business out of it now)

The next big trend in accessories is Embelishments. So like, charms and extras on things. Like Brooches, pins, chains.....blah blah blah. So everyone likes my bag because the handle is a scarf. Which is why I loved it when I got it. --If your my husband and you are reading this, I'd like to point out that it was a free gift with purchase. Of something that I was going to buy anyway. Thought I'd throw that in there so I am not accused of buying something just for the free gift. Which I have been guilty of before. ;o)--

Anywho. My ego is totally boosted. It makes me feel like I'm not so far out of the Fashion loop, even though I am in the middle of nowhere 1/2 the time.

Amazing Discovery!

Some of you that know me well, know that for some reason I have frequent headaches. Today, the hipocondriac next to me shared one of her little "crazy lady theraputic lotions" with me. To my surprise I am in love with it. It is this stuff from Origins called, ...are you ready?... "Sensory Therapy, Peace of Mind". I have to go get some of this stuff. It's a lotion, and you rub it into your pressure points. Like temples, back of neck, wrists, whatever. It tingles a little, but it makes you feel refreshed, and then my headache was gone in almost 5 minutes! It was so fabulous. We're calling it head crack. She also has some, eye crack that I'll have to tell you about some other time. They are these cool eye drops that work really well. Anyway. I have to go buy stock in this item.

Christopher Reeve

I was driving to work this morning when I was completely taken aback by the news that Christopher Reeve died on Saturday of heart failure. Now I know he's been pretty bad off since tha horrible accident, but it was still surprising and stunning to hear. Since he was "superman", I guess I, like many people in America I'm sure, thought that he'd eventually overcome his obsticle and be able to walk and live on his own again someday. It was just very shocking to me this morning to hear that he passed on. He seemed like such a great man, that it's a terrible loss.
But I take comfort knwing that it is Gods great gain to have with him now.

This Past Weekend

My husband and I were true rednecks this weekend. It was actually pretty great. We took out his rifles and went shootin'. His dad has these little metal targets. There are four that hang down, and one that sticks up. The object is to shoot all the hanging ones so they flip up and at the end shoot the one that sticks up so the other 4 fall back down. I think my man was pretty surprised by my technique. My first rifle didn't have a very good site on it. So I missed the first time, got used to it, and hit 3 out of 4. My man of course, did the same with that gun. Then my next turn I used a slightly better rifle that had a better site on it. I liked this one a lot, and missed only 1 out of my 10 rounds. Darin of couse got them all. (showoff) The third rifle was just fun because his dad had a new scope. So it was easy sailing. I hit all ten of ten. Darin did the same. At one point it was pretty cool because I was standing and Darin was kneeling and we both shot at the same time, and hit the two targets next to eachother at the same time. It was like we were in a redneck gun show! ;o) he he he. Anyway. It was pretty fun, and I think my man was impressed that I was such a good shot. Maybe I'm just a redneck at heart.

How Cool is This?!

So yesterday I showed one of my favorite purses (aka Handbags) to one of the buyers here. She liked it and is sending it off to the vendor to have them copy it. Is that not cool?! My accessory taste is so good that someone wants to copy it?! :o) I think that rocks!

Plus there is another perk. She told me today that she has them make me my own sample. So not only is my bag going to be copied. I'm getting another one! Woo hoo! I love it! This rocks!

Yosemite Sam Look Alike

I came to a realization last night. George Bush resembles an increadible likeness to Yosemite Same of Looney Toons. He has a short temper just like him, when he gets irritated he wiggles around just like him. Last night he got so frustrated at Kerry I thought he was going to pull out two side pistals and start shooting at the ground just like Yosemite Sam does when he's throwing a temper tantrum.

Next time you watch a debate, think of this when you watch Bush get agree. You'll see what I mean!

Democratic State

You know...It's very strange living in a state where Democrats are in the majority instead of the minority. I'm not sure how I feel about that. But I can say, I'm starting to get anoyed with their liberal crap. So many of these Donkeys sound like idiots when they talk about politics. I'm starting to wonder if I should switch over just so I'm in the minority party again. :o$ ha! not.
But I do wish that more Donkeys would sound like they knew what they were talking about that way they wouldn't always look like fools to the opossing party. It just brings the whole party down. Not everyone is an idiot in the Democratic party. Or so I hope...

I Think My Husband Loves Me

At 3:00 today I got flowers from my husband.
Isn't he great? He must really love me.

Don't Forget to Watch the Debates!

• The structure of debates
Debates use a variety of formats. Primary debates, featuring candidates from the same party, and local debates traditionally are more freewheeling and incorporate a wide range of formats because of multiple candidates. Since 1992, the general election presidential debates have also featured multiple formats including a town hall meeting with citizen questioners.
Most debates impose time limits on answers to ensure that all candidates have equal opportunity to respond. Topics may focus on a wide range of issues or may be on a particular theme such as education or the economy. General election presidential debates usually divide the time between foreign and domestic topics.
Candidates may have an opening statement, or a moderator may introduce each candidate and begin questioning immediately. In most debates candidates have closing statements.
Questions guide the content of debates. There are three types of questions: initial; follow-up; and cross-examination. Initial questions get the debate started by asking candidates to explain or defend a position or compare it to an opponent's. Many initial questions are hypotheticals in the form of, "What would you do ifs?" Follow-up questions are directed at a candidate after an answer is given. Their purpose is to probe the original response by asking for elaboration or clarification. Some follow-up questions are on an unrelated topic. Follow-up questions may be asked immediately after an initial response is given or after all candidates have answered the initial question. Cross-examination questions are questions that one candidate addresses to another. A separate time can be set aside for cross-examination questions or they may be included as follow-ups.
Questions may be posed to candidates from a variety of sources. In primary and local debates, experts on the topic debated may serve as panelists. A single moderator, usually from the media, or a panel of media representatives or subject experts are the most common questioners. Many debates, especially at the local level, allow for questions from the audience at some point in the debate. The Richmond town hall meeting in 1992 was the first general election presidential debate to involve citizen questioners.

•How to get the most out of a debate
Focus your attention on a few key points. Know what it is you want in an office holder, then watch and listen to see which candidate best fits your ideal. The following suggestions will help you focus:
Set aside your partisan views. Use the debates to learn as much as possible about all candidates and their positions.
Pay close attention to the candidates when they talk about how to solve problems. Listen carefully for comparisons candidates make between or among their programs and their opponents'.
Identify the candidate's debate strategy. Does the candidate speak directly to the issues, provide specifics, and present new policies or information? Or does the candidate evasively interpret questions to suit his/her agenda?
Identify the images which candidates try to create for themselves. Most candidates try to portray themselves as leaders and identify themselves with cherished American values while suggesting that their opponents lack these qualities. What in the responses supports their claims?
Be aware of the technical limitations of televised debates. Television works by showing action. To create action and minimize monotony, directors sometimes include "reaction shots" to show one candidate's response to an opponent's statement. This can distract your attention from what is being said. It is wise to remember the role of action shots when watching the debates.
Consider the questions asked by the panelists. The essence of debate is comparison and contrast. Did the panelist's or moderator's questions encourage alternative viewpoints? Observe and evaluate the questions asked and determine if you are genuinely adding to the content of the debates.
Don't watch a debate to determine a winner or loser. All candidates have goals for a debate; as a result, all could claim victory if winning is defined as achieving goals set by campaigns or the media. Focus on the question, "Who would make a better president, senator, governor, legislator, county clerk?"

JG and JJ

Last night I had the most fabulous dream I could ever have!

I dreamt that I won a meet and greet with Jeff Gordon. He showed up at my house with Jimmy Johnson, and they were both so into me, and my knowledge of their carreers. (They didn't find it creepy at all. ;o) So I was showing Jimmy around my house and telling him about how much I love his racing style, and that I knew he was going to be good his rookie year, and have been a fan ever since when he picks me up and gives me this huge hug and says, "I won last week!" I'm like, "I know". Your so fabulous. And then I don't know if he tried to make out with me or not because by this time I was starting to wake up. But I'd like to think he, Jeff and I had a threesome. ha! No really. I don't know what happened next. But it was so great to wake up thinking about it. Weeeee. I love good dreams.

The Haps of the Weekend

Darin came up this weekend and we went to Como Park. It's this big park in the middle of St Paul. It's really pretty, plus there is a free zoo there. We donated a dollar each and walked around inside it. It was fun. (Except for the masterbating monkeys). Why is there always one of those in the bunch? OK... The masterbating monkeys were fun too. I laughed so hard when we got away from the kids that were around. How the heck do you explain that to your kid? "It's a second Tail honey." ha ha ha! I decided when I have kids I'm not taking them to the primate exibits. There is always at LEAST one with his willy hanging out. Perverts.

Problem Solving.

Well, I'm working though some news that I was given this weekend and trying to get over it.
I think this in part because I balanced my budget for the next two weeks and seem to have mis managed $300. So I will be $300 in the hole. I've got to come up with a better budgeting plan. It seems lately that even though I budget, I still don't have enough money when I need it. Which is weird because I'm so anal retentive. Plus, I haven't been doing anything. Which really pisses me off. If I'm not doing anything why the hell am I so broke!!!
I have no friends to hang out with, so I go home and clean or hang out with Jax. I've decided my fat ass has gotten fat enough and am going to really start working out after work though. So maybe that will help me to feel like I'm doing something.
Darin brought up my sewing table this past weekend, so I've got some projects in the works. I am in desperate need of new cloths. So maybe I'll whip up some new creations. Who knows.
(This reminds me. I haven't gotten my W or Vogue magazines since I've moved. I better look into why I'm not getting them at my new address.)
I need to figure out what kind of second job can I have that will pay me good money. I thought about working at the local P1, but that will only give me $50 a week more. Not much. Woah is me. Why couldn't I have married someone filthy stinking rich? In my next marriage, I'm marrying for money instead of love.

Getting a Kick Out of This

This is funny. My boss, has asked me for the past two days, how to do some stuff. Isn't that funny? I have only been here what? 2 1/2 months, and I'm showing her how to do stuff? I must say though. I think the learning curve here isn't so bad. I think I will soon know pretty much all there is to know about these systems, and will then be able to concentrate on how to make my departments better sellers. I am hoping anyway. If we make plan we get bonus money. If we exceed plan we get more bonus money. So I want to exceed so I can make up for some of the bills I've got. I've been fantasizing. If I only got $1000 I could pay off two dept store credit cards, or 1/3 of one of my visa cards. That would rock!

I've got a date tomorrow. With my friend Gretchen. This will be the first time that I hang out with a "friend" since moving out here on July 6th. We are going to walk her dog, then go get food, then go to Pier 1 to see what is out. We also are going to try to talk to the manager and see if we can weesle our way in to working Mon-Thursday nights. That way we can still feel like we work for the greatest company on earth. Yes you heard me right. With all the things that everyone thinks suck about P1. We have decided that it has spoiled us, because the grasss is not greener on the other side. It's not even the same shade. It's a lot paler.

This Weekend

Well, if anyone actually still reads my blog, here's an update on my weekend.

The weather was supposed to be fabulous. In the high 80's to low 90's. So Darin and I decided to go to the lake for one last horrah. Well, it was windy. Not really windy enough to be a pain, but windy enough to make white caps on the lake, so we couldn't exactly put the boat in and have fun. So we went to the other side of the lake. (I guess I should explain that there is a north side and a south side. They are seperated by a road, and usually if one is choppy the other is not. However, to get to the South side one in a boat you have to put the boat in on the north side, and then go under a really tiny bridge.) So Darin and I decided to go paddle boating on the south side. We paddleboated for about an hour, with the current into the lake. Then realized, once the wind picked up more, and it was starting to get dark, that we had a long road ahead of us to paddle against the current to get home. Actually, it wasn't so bad getting back, but let me tell you my ass and thighs hurt from paddling.

Then I grilled steak. It was so awesome. The best steak I've ever grilled. I loved it! I love being a meat eater. It's so much better than those vegetable eaters. Vegetables aren't 1/2 as much fun!

Then, on Sunday, it was 95 degrees, but still windy. So Darin and I went up to the North lake with the intentions of seeing if we should just swim on the shore. The water was butt-ass cold! Not as cold as the people who froze on the Titanic cold. But still pretty cold. So we waded in, and after about 15 minutes of standing there, "I said screw it! I'm going in!" So I took off my cloths (No I wasn't nude. I had my bathing suit on...pervert) and dove in. Man was it cold. But it was also invigorating. Sure, my body probably went into shock at first, but when I pulled my head back out of the water and felt the warmth on my face, I felt alive and fabulous! All the stress I had been feeling from work, and lonelyness melted away. Shortly after Darin joined me and realized the same thing. We decided we should try to join a polarbear club this winter- you know, those crazy people that swim in feezing cold lakes in the dead of winter. Not that that really will happen. But it seemed like a good plan at the time. We swam for a good amount of time before we finally got out. The waves were so big it was like body surfing at times. We had so much fun. It felt sooooo good. When we got out because it was so warm and windy, we dried off pretty quickly without towels. Then we walked around the lake for a bit, watching the wild life, and the fishermen. It was a great day!

I Wonder if Something is Wrong with Me?

So... for the past three days I have noticed that my heart starts beating faster for a couple seconds several times throughout the day. It's weird. I'm not sure if that is what a heart palpitation is or whatever it's called, or what?! It's like how I feel when I get nervous. Except I haven't been nervous lately. At least not that I know of. It's a little weird. I guess I'll try to pay attention this weekend and see if I notice it. Maybe it is work stress. Even though I don't really let work stress me out much. So I don't know why it'd be causing my heart to speed up like that.

Either way. It is freaky.

Kitty Update

He's dead.
It's a long, horrible story. I cry everytime I think of it, much less try to tell it, so spare me the pain of having to write about it. :o( Just pray I get him out of my head so I can stop replaying him lying there dying.

As My Good Friend Dave Would Say, "I Have a Cat"

That's an inside joke...

Well, Friday Darin and I went to his parent's farm to get the speed boat. While we were fuelling up the gas tanks, these three tiny little kittys come running out to greet me. Darin had found them last week sometime. They were so cute. One dark grey with stripes, the other light grey with stripes, and a little bit of orange, the other grey and white blotches. So while Darin messed with the boats I messed with the kitties. They were so cute. Especially the grey and white blotches one. So Darin then tells me he thought that one was cute too, and if he were to keep a cat, it'd be that one. So then he got me thinking...."Maybe I should take him when he's ready..."
But I'm not sure of this, and decide to think about it more. First of all, cats are high maintenance. At least higher than my rabbit. They meow, they have to have a little box, and that means I have to clean the thing! Where would I put a litter box anyway?

So we go to the lake for the weekend. Leaving the kitties behind.

We returned to the farm on Sunday, around 3:00. Darin once again had to tinker with stuff, so I went off to find my kitties. The grey and white blotchy one was sitting outside of it's little makeshift home waiting to great me. The others were nowhere to be found. So I play with the one little guy, thinking the others will hear and come out. They didn't. So now reality is setting in. They are probably dead under there somewhere.

So I go get a flash light to look. By this time, I've gathered a following. My "monkey cat" from last year that likes to climb on everything, and can find a way to get somewhere no matter what. A new kitten from last week that just showed up that is really friendly, another friendly cat, and this grey and white kitten. When I look under the gas tank. I see the other two kitties, but they aren't moving. I go to the other side to see their faces, and sure enough. They are dead. Which makes me feel horrible because on Friday we were all playing happily. We don't know if they starved to death, or if a male cat got in there and killed them. Which happens somewhat often because aparently boy cats are the devil. Jerk cats. >:o

So, now we have this one little guy, who is most likely abandoned by his mama, and most likely spend the raining weekend cuddled up to his dead brother and sister to keep warm, with no food. So I took it into the house to find some condensed milk, or milk replacer to feed this poor guy.

To make a long story short, I wound up bringing him home with me. So now, I've got this cat. I don't even think I want to keep him because I have Jax and don't need another creature. I don't want to have to pour money I don't have into feeding and taking care of this guy. So I don't know. Most likely I will nurse it all week and return it to the farm. I'm thinking I shoudl convince Darin he needs a cat at the house. That way I don't have it, and he will have a buddy. Then I can have a cuddler on the weekends when I come home.

I don't even know if I should name him or not. I'm so confused!

Car Names

Help. I need help coming up with names for my new car. Pontiac Grand Am. Now, here are the guidelines.
It must be a name that starts with either a G or a P. I know this sounds weird, but I was told, by a certain blond highschool friend of mine (brenda, you know who you are) that you HAVE to do it this way.
I'd also like something different, but not stupid.

Give me your ideas!

Best Weekend Ever!

I had the most fun this last weekend. I went back to Texas to finish up some "business" and stayed with my friend Cesar. It was such a blast. It was awesome being back. First of all, it was fabulously hot! Which I love. Second of all, it was just so much fun!!!

Thursday night when I got in, Cesar and I wound up drinking some new drink he learned how to make that consisted of one can limeade, one can vodka, and 2 bottles of beer. I was drunk off of 1/2 a glass and quite giggly, which I normally don't get like when I'm drunk. We both had 2. So you can probably imagine how we were. We drank and watched Chocolat. mmmmmm... Johnny Depp...mm mm mm. Then we stayed up talking through the walls for a long time. We should have just gone to bed in the same room, but by the time our drunk asses came up with that revelation, we were already snug and warm in our beds. Eventually, we fell asleep.

Friday, I met with the photographer to arrange my photo album. It's going to be awesome. I was so excited to see my wedding again. (Kind of sad that I'm no longer a bride. Just a boring wife.) Then went to lunch with my friend Lisa. It was nice to hang out with her, she's turned out to be a really good friend, and I'm glad I called her to have lunch. It was fun catching up on things. She even bought a black and white bunny at the swap meet or something. Then Cesar and I went to his families house for a birthday party. I have to say, it's a little weird being around someone who has brothers and sisters whom he actually likes. I have one, and she can't seem to stop shitting on me. He has millions and they all do nice things for eachother. Isn't that weird? ;o) It is to me. But it was cool to see.

Saturday we went SHOPPING! Woo hoo! Well, we didn't buy much at the outlet mall, but Cesar wound up buying an Entertainment Center and Rug. It was fun! Wish I had money to blow.

When I got home on Sunday night, my husband called as I was driving into my apartment to see if I made it home. I told him I was almost there. When I walked up the stairs to my apartment the door opened. I was scared shittless. I was preparing myself to karate chop someone, and was freaking out because I thought I hadn't locked my house up all weekend. And then standing in the doorway was my hot husband with a smile on his face saying, "welcome home". It was so great! I love him.

This weekend made me realize even more than my wedding did, how lucky I am to have the few good friends that I do have. I miss my friends. I mean, my REAL friends. I am worried that I won't be able to find that kind of quality friendship with anyone up here. It's a whole different world up here than it is down there. There I was single and young, and met most of my loyal good friends through school. Here I'm married and old. So the young singles won't be good friends b/c I have little in common with them. The older married are already with children and too boring for me to identify with. So I have no idea how I'm going to go about making good friends up here. Sigh.... I missed Texas. Even though I love MN b/c my man is here, and we have a lot of great things to do out here, I still missed Texas. I'm going to have to visit a lot more frequently.

Thanks Cesar for being such a great friend, and releaving some of my "homesick-ness". You are fabulous and I love you! Even though I may go bankrupt.

Something Strange is Goin' On

Something strange is going on. I put on one of my "cute" pants today. which isn't hard to do since I only have 3 pairs. 1 has fish blood on them, and I can no longer wear as a pair of "fashion" pants. The other has a hole in the knee, and is growing another in the hips. Boy those were a bad investment. Oh, I do have a fourth pair! They are my VC ones that inspired my new "diet" pants. Anywhooo... I'm wearing these pants that usually make me look thin. Well... as thin as I can look anyway. Today they are loose. I can't figure it out. I'm still as fat as can be. I haven't worked out since the accident, and I've been eating out more than I did at P1. So I know I'm not any thinner than I was when they fit nice. So my only conclusion is that they stretched out in the dryer last night. OR some fat ass has taken my jeans, wore them, and returned them without my knowledge!

Car Delema

After all of that....
So I have spent 5 days going back and forth on which car to buy. The black Pontiac Grand Am, or the Silver Monte Carlo. I've made a decision, then changed my mind. Then did it again, and again, and again....
So we finally decided we are going for the Monte. It's a nicer car for the same price. And who cares about the mileage b/c I am not going to have it forever. So that was my final decision.
I heard from the dealer this morning. They can't make the deal go through b/c they think my debt to income ratio is too high and I'd be overextending myself. So basically. I'd need a cosigner. Which I think is weird since a different dealer approved me for the same exact amount! Whatever.
So now I'm getting the Pontiac.
I can hear Cesar's shouts of joy as I write this. He now can be seen in my car, and I don't have to get a rental when he comes out.

As Donald Would Say...

"You're Fired!"

So. Interesting haps this last Friday. The 13th I might add. Not that I believe in superstitions. The girl that has been training me was "mysteriously" fired. We came back from lunch to a controversy in house.

Apparently she had been fired for a "policy violation". She was told not to speak to anyone so we don't know for sure. Later, someone called her and she wouldn't say what it was, but that she thougth it was "petty" and if she got fired, many other people should be fired for it too. So then rumors went a flying. Just as is tradition for a corporate office. What could it be? Do we all need to run to our policy manuel to make sure that we don't break it too? Why didn't she just get a warning? All these fabulous speculations.

Well, as the day progressed, we learned that another guy "Barsted" was fired as well. He was fired for buying or selling, the rumor isn't clear, drugs in the company parking lot. Now isn't that just interesting? Why anyone who is nearing their 30s, or over their 30s is still doing weed or other drugs, is beyond me.

Soap Box time:
I think anyone who is like that still in their lives is a bit of a loser. No matter how put together they "are" or "seem". Sorry for me getting on my soap box hear, but come on! We're supposed to be proffessionals!

Anywhoo. Then the guy I work with pointed out that I am now the "Senior Allocator" (by default) in the Malls/Aiports. Which struck me as funny because it wasn't long ago that my other 1/2 at pier 1 was abruptly fired and I was the sole guru. So apparently this is a trend in my life. I have decided if they ask me to either take on it all, or move over into this other girls position I'm asking for more money. How much should I ask for? $2000 too much? More? What do you think?

Pants

I came up with a new diet strategy. Today I am wearing a new pair of pants. I have a couple "special care" actions that I take when I buy new pants.
1. They fit so nice I don't want to stretch them out in the waistline. So I suck in my gut most of the day to hopefully prevent this. Therefore, strengthening my abs (aka a workout).
2. They are straight legs, so I can feel my fat thighs all squished and trying to bust the seems when I sit for long periods of time(aka more workout). This makes me get up more and move around in an attempt to preserve the new pants. Plus, it keeps me consious of my fattness, therefore making me want to do something about it so I don't ruin my new pants.
3. Since they fit perfectly, which usually means a little snug in the waist, it keeps me from over eating at lunch so as to avoid the #1 issue and that is stretching out the waistline. Plus, I am going to divert back to my strategy listed in #1 after I eat to prevent this. And if I over ate, that would be quite difficult to do! Which then again would remind me of how fat I am, which then again, makes me want to do something about it!

So you see here. The key to good weight loss is to wear new pants! It creates it's own dietetic circle! It's great! I think I should write a book about it!

Guess What Just Happened to Me.

A girl I work with just came over and asked me if I had done something. I told her no b/c I was waiting on Heather to do something, and that I was working on something else. Well. I was also typing a note to a friend of mine. So she goes, "I was here until 7:00 last night because I just can't get it done. So if your bored or something, and nodded to my computer note, would you do mine for me?" I told her if she wanted me to do them I'd do them.

That is just absoluetly out of line to say the "bored" comment to me. First of all, the systems are so slow, I'm writing the note between waiting times. And second. I see no difference in me taking a minute or two to write a note to a friend, and them going out to smoke a cig. Actually. It probably takes less time for me to write a note than it does for them to smoke a cigarette.

I wonder if I should say something to someone? Like maybe to my boss? What do you think? I wish I would have said, "Just because I'm writing a note to a friend doens't mean I'm working any less, nor does it mean I'm niglecting my duties here at Wilsons." I feel like I should say that to a manager or something. Like before this girl starts saying I'm not working or something. I don't know if she's like that to complain just because I don't work the way she does, but I don't know. Maybe she is.

Everyone's work ethic is different. And since I am only getting paid to work a certain amount of hours, that is what I'm putting in. It shouldn't be my life. Now, that's not to say if I am really busy, and/or something is urgent that I won't put in hours. It's just not neccessary to me at this point in time. Everything I have to do is stuff that can get done during regular work hours. Know what I mean? I mean. If I work my butt off, there is always going to be something else that needs to be done, so really, it's like beating a dead horse.

Give me some feed back y'all!

Plane Ticket

Tomorrow I am going to finally have enough money to buy a plane ticket back to Texas. Woo hoo! I am hoping to be there the last weekend in August. I'm going to take a "personal" day. Somewhat like P1's floating holidays I think. Or at least that is what I'm treating them as!

I also need to start working on buying a car. Darin and I found a couple in Fergus Falls that I'd like to go test drive and get the dirt on. Used of course. It's so sad. I've been gearing myself up to buying a bran new car for so long. Now with the wedding, I have to buy a used car. :o( Marriage sucks! All it does is drain your bank account. I thought that was what I was for...Draining Darin's bank account. I'm mad that I'm being deprived of my wifely duties!

I am going to try to get a loan for one of the 2001 Pontiac Grand Ams that I saw. If I don't qualify for that loan, then I guess I'm stuck buying this 199-something car for $2500. :o( Poor me! Take pitty on me!

Car Update

Sigh....

The car ran fine all the way to Wheaton. Where upon my arrival, my- oh so detail oriented- husband noticed that the bracket that holds the muffler on was broken in half. So he'd have to fix it. We then went to the lake for the weekend. We got back on Sunday around 3:00, where he decided he'd have to weld it since there were no stores open on Sunday in this small town. (now...why oh why, didn't he think to go to Fergus Falls to buy the part where we were on Sunday already, minutes away from the lake, I do not know. But I can tell you, that is what I would have done. But that's just me and my silly women's logic.)

So... He welds this thing on, and decides to tinker around with several other things to make sure I am good to go. Which I'm fine with because I'd rather have it safe than not. I'm just anxious to get back because I don't want to get back in the middle of the night again.
Finally, by 6:00 the car is ready for me to go.

Everything seemed to be going good until I got about 45 minutes away from home. I had just stopped at this very cool truck stop/travel center, bought some fresh bread (they have a great bakery/restaurant there, and had just finished munching on my sour cream and onion lays potatoe chips. Going.... oh probably 75 miles an hour. (I say probably, because the care has no speedometer) I notice that the alignment is off. But I'm not sure because I'm going around a turn, so maybe it's just me being paranoid. Then suddenly there is a loud thud/bang. And ALOT of smoke. Then thump! thump! thump! thump! thump! thump! I had a flat tire. In the left lane. In the middle of lots of traffice because the cities traffic is really thick at 8:00 at night on sunday. So I pull over as best I can and drive into the median. Which is a ditch. A steep ditch.

Remembering all those wonderful death stories on the news about people changing tires on the side of the road, I made sure I pulled into the ditch pretty well to avoid getting bruitally squished by something while tinkering around on this hunk of junk. Excuse me, I mean, "classic piece of muscle car".

I knew I was in for it, because I had never seen a spair tire on this thing. Nor did I know where Darin's jack was. It was all very frustrating to me because, had I been in my beloved -may he rest in peace- car, "Forest". I would know exactly how to do all of this.
So.... First things first. Call Darin to tell him what is going on. Call my Aunt and my cousin. In case they are in the area and can help me. Or stop off for coffee in the ditch.

Second. Find the frickin' tire. Call Darin, ask where it is? Get no good answers because he's more concerned with, I don't know what. My cell phone is dying and all I want is the facts.

Third. Found the tire, now have to find the jack. "What the fuck is this?!!!!" It's some crappy devise that takes me 10 minutes to figure out how to use. After calling Darin again, on my soon to be dead cell phone, he can't seem to tell me where the rest of the jack components are. Wonderful!

I finally get all together and start looking for a place to put this stupid bumper jack on. (aka the bumper.) BUT my bumper is so low that I can't get it under there because of the blow out. So as I'm about to throw a fit in the median, a state trooper pulls up. Turns out, even though part of why I was so irritated was because I was thinking, "had this happened to me in Texas, One of those guys that drives around looking for just this sort of thing would have found me by now, and been able to help me", someone on a cell phone had called and said there was a car in the ditch somewhere. So that was nice. Someone cared. Even know noone stopped for me. But I'm going to look up the state trooper phone number and put it in my cell phone to use if I ever see anyone needing help! Much much safer than pulling over to help!

So Woo hoo! State trooper is here! He then helps me get the jack under the bumper and we're on our way! woo hoo! He gets the tire off, and the spare on..... But... my luck is so fabulous tonight. The spare is completely flat. I now need air. He sends a second trooper off for an air compressor. The guy returns withing 20 minutes but the compressor doesn't work. So now I have to call a tow truck to come fill my tire. Another 20 minutes goes by.... All while I have one state trooper sitting in the ditch with me with all his lights on. All very very exciting. The guy fills my tire with air, and I am charged $45.!!!!!! I now have no money for the rest of the week. Sucks being poor.

Finally. FINALLY by 9:30 we get my car moving again. But now the challenge is getting out of this ditch into rush hour-like traffic. I thought I might pop a tire trying to get out of there. And let me also add, that is possibly the scariest thing I've ever had to do. It's already hard to judge cars in the dark, and I've got to get into the fast lane as well. I'm surprised I didn't freak out more than I did. Actually. I think I kept my calm pretty well. The most imbarrassing part is that the state trooper waited for me to get out, and so did the tow truck.

So I drove home with people wizzing by me on the left. Even though it was a full size spare, I was scared to death. So I just chugged along until I got home. Where I quickly collapsed into my bed. After calling my husband to let me know I was finally home.

The sweetest part of this whole mess was that he told me he had tires loaded in his truck, ready to head out on my next call if I had needed him. Isn't that just the sweetest thing ever? He'd head out 2 1/2 hours to find me in a ditch. Now that really must be love!.

Aren't Cars Wonderful?!

So I'm driving to work this morning (takes me 10 minutes... 15 tops). Sitting at a light when I think I see smoke coming out of Darin's 1980 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. (His baby..If the way he treats this car is in any way an indicator as to how he is going to handle our children, I will definately have NOTHING to worry about!)
So I'm like, "crap". I'm supposed to drive to Wheaton tonight after work. (3 hour drive)
So I pull into my work parking lot. I don't see any smoke coming out of the hood. So this is good right?
I pop the hood. Nothing.
I get out and notice there is water running down the wheel well, and it's making a puddle.
I can't open the hood because Darin usually has to do this "McGiver" move to open it, and apparently I don't have the magic touch. So I say screw it and I go into the building to call my husband. I figure I can turn into a typical GIRL. he he he. Let the MAN figure out what the hell is wrong! Go girl power!

So I go out there with my cell phone later, and there seems to be nothing wrong. He made me check a million and one things. Nothing of which had a problem. So I must have pulled another GIRL move and imagined the smoke.
Whatever.
If this car dies while I'm driving to Wheaton, I'm going to be pissed! Pissed as Hell!
I'll let you know how it turns out.

Today's Horiscope

Today's Horiscope: The Sun's opposing Neptune, the planet of reality, suggests that you may have miscalculated the viability of an endeavor. If you're getting cold feet or having second thoughts, pay attention.

This is very telling, and right on.

As much as I hate to admit this, I have been having second thoughts about the importance of my career. What am I really getting out of this current career oportunity anyway? Not much really. It's not as creative as I'd like, and even though I'm getting the expierience that I thought would be good for me. I am afraid, I'm not enjoying the new company as much as I thought I would. They seem to be very scattered. Our meetings don't run on time, and they never stay on topic, veering off into other business topics that should be discussed offline, or in another meeting. No wonder this company isn't doing very well. It's very obvious to me why. But anyway. . . I've also been wondering, what is staying in the cities going to do to further my career? What will this current position do to further my career?

I am starting to wonder if I should just give up on having a career and job that I love going to, and just doing something closer to Wheaton. Besides, I'm not sure I'm loving the job I'm going to right now anyway. So I don't think I'm accomplishing what I wanted to accomplish at the moment anyway. Whatever. Anyway. It's so hard to explain what I'm thinking right now.

Marriage

Warning: What I am about to say is very corny.

I love my husband. I absolutely love him. Everytime I set eyes on him I'm even more attracted to him that I was the last time I saw him. He's such a wonderful man, I'm very lucky to have found him. I'm also very lucky that all my bullshit didn't push him away for good. I love him. Everytime I turn around he's doing something else that I think is wonderful. And I'm not even talking about major things here. Little things he does or says really mean a lot to me, and make me love him even more.

Ahhhh.... Love is bliss!

Yesterday's Horiscope

"The downside to gluing yourself to a position is that once you're securely stuck to it, you frequently don't want it anymore. Try a neutral approach today; you may learn something interesting."

Funnily enough. I had a meeting today where they suggessted that myself and another allocator visit the MSP store every other week. I said that might not be a bad idea, but this morning it sunk in that that means we need to go to the MSP store twice a month! Why didn't I read this horiscope before I went to that meeting!?

But never fear. My horiscope today says: "You have more leverage over a certain situation than you realize. In short, there is no need to play the underdog this afternoon."

Woo hoo! I'm gonna get out of it!!!! I think once a month is plently!

I Hate Tardy People!

I was volunteered to go to the Airport Store to do a floorset with a girl from marketing.  We were supposed to go at noon.  Time currently:  12:30.  Where the heck is she!!!  I didn't want to go do this b/c I'm new and have a million and one things to get rid of, so now I'm leaving the office to help some girl I don't know, in a store that I don't know, with merchandise I don't know, at the airport, where I don't know as well.  Argh!  I hate tardiness!!

I'm also starving, which could attribute to why I'm so bitter.  I have no cash, and since we were going to the airport I thought I'd pick something up on the way there.  So now it's 12:34 and still no chicky.  I don't know if I should go out and get food, or stick around and wait for her late ass ass.

Everyone around me is eating their lunch.  All I've had is a hard boiled egg, and a small cup of crappy vending machine coffee, when what I really want is to go across the street to Barnes and Noble to get a Mocha.  Oh wait!  That's my old cushy job.  Why the hell did I ever think getting married was a good reason to sacrifice my old job?  The only thing that makes me feel better about the amenities of ole P1 is that they are moving, and they too will no longer have the spoiled convienience of Sundance Square.  Pretty soon, all of my old coworkers will know the suffering of having to leave campus every time they don't bring their own food, or don't want to eat in the crappy ass cafeteria.

Why oh why did I ever leave anyway.  Do you know how much it sucks having to be the new person?  I have to learn so much, when all I had to do in the old job was everything.  At least I knew everything there.  I could do what I wanted.  Now I'm a little peeon that knows nothing about anything.  :o(  Woah is me.  I hate their systems here.  They are slow, and not logically setup.  I miss my created just for me, by me system that I left behind.  Hmmmm Maybe I can create the new system here.  I know change is supposed to be good, but I'm starting to wonder.  Yes, I've got a fabulous husband, who gets sexier everytime I see him, and Yes, I've got a job that is paying me more money than previously.  But I'm tired all the time, stressed out because work is building up, and irritated that this marketing chic still isn't around and it is now 12:40.  Wow.  I think I may be a fast typer... :o$  I wonder if I should become a court reporter?

Lazy Woman's Complaints

Blah blah blah, woah is me...
Blah blah blah had a headache all day long...
Blah blah blah haven't accomplished anything at work today...
Blah blah blah it's raining today and traffic is going to be a bitch for my drive to boony land.
Blah blah blah hope I get approved for my apartment soon.  I suddenly have a fear that they'll find something not nice on my credit report or criminal background check...yadda yadda yadda

Fish Blood

So, I decided to be a follower, and wear jeans to work today.  Even though it's not Friday, and even though everyone else wears them all week long.  So I pulled out my favorite New York & Company jeans, put them on, and walked out the door.  (My top was on as well.)

Then today I'm sitting in our Employee of the Month meeting and see a spot on my knee.  So I stare at it trying to figure out what that is, and how I got it. . . Stare some more. . . Then it hits me!  These are the pants I was wearing when we went fishing and one of the fish that swallowed my hook whole projectile bled onto my pants!  So I'm sitting at work today, in my jeans, with that a fish blood stain on the right knee.  I think it might be time to retire these pants. . . Sigh.  I love these pants.  Maybe I'll make them my official fishing pants.

Funny

I was just told that I'm funny.  I think it's weird that people think this about me since I think I'm pretty boring.

Why Qdoba's Better

1.  It's more than just hot sauce.  It's wonderfully smoked flavor
2.  They pile all the contents on top of eachother, so you get a good mix of all ingredients at once.
(not like Chipotle, where they layer them all in, so sometimes you get a bit of only sour
cream, or just a bite of cheeze.)
3.  The frequent biters club
4.  The burrito rollers know what they are doing, therefore making the assembly process faster.
6.  It doesn't give me gas
7.  It's just yummier!

-late additions-
8.  The tortilla's are crunchie, not soft.
9.  The hot sauce is clumpy and weird.

Is it to early to pass judgment?

I have been here at Wilkins for what?  Two weeks now?  I hadn't really worked with my boss the first week because it was a short week, she was busy, and I was in training.  All last week she was on vacation.  This week she is back, and is already the topic of my complaints.  I hate to complain so soon in the game, but it's so hard not to after the 2 days I've had working with her.  Should I repeat that I've only been working with her for TWO, count them, one, two; days!!!  And I've already got complaints.  Now, my old boss (who shall remain nameless in here) wasn't perfect.  But I had few complaints about her.  My largest complaint about her is that she needed some balls.  She needed to stand up and fight more for things that the department needed.  I see so much ability for growth in that department.  All it needs is a good leader to make it all happen.  If I was the SAM of that department, I'd have lots of things in the works that would be good.  I'd be a little bee in my superiors ears.  Anyway, that's not the topic of my discussion today.  So I'll save that rant for another day.

My complaints today are about how my boss won't shut the hell up!  She's one of those, talk really fast, interrupt you to finish your thoughts, people.  So for the past two days, whenever I have been trying to explain something to her it goes something like this,
me, "well, I started out thinking that I should run a query on the"
her, "on the individual styles.  I see, that would make sense because... blah blah blah."
me, after a long period of trying to get a word in, "no, actually I was thinking we should run a query on the"
her, "oh.  I see, you want to run a query on the blah blah blah blah....."
me, after another long period of her trying to guess what I'm saying, "no actually..."
I think you get the point.  And the problem with that is that it is all a big waist of time.  If she'd just shut up and let me explain something then we'd be done with it in a fraction of the time it took to have that frickin' conversation!!!!!  And it's not just me she does it to, so don't think I'm just picky or judemental.  She did the same thing when we were talking to her boss several times.   (Now, this boss, I think I love.  She's so good as listening, and understanding what your asking/saying, and then she explains things perfectly so you leave her office without a single question.  Who I can talk more about in a later post.)

So basically.  I'm thinking I'm not going to like my new boss.  I hope she stops being anoying like that after she gets settled back in to her daily routine.  Maybe things are just really hectic for her right now since she's been on vacation.  But I'm thinkin' my quickly forming opinion isn't going to be changing for the better.... Sigh.

I've never had so much fun failing miserably

This weekend I decided to learn to water ski.  Let me tell you, I don't think I've laughed so hard at myself in a very long time.  From the second I jumped into the sub-zero temperature lake (actually, it wasn't so bad once I was in for a while) I should have known it was going to be a very long and tiring day.

Who would have known that putting on water ski's in water would be so hard to do?  I think it took me a good 20 minutes to finally get the skis on.  Then I had to figure out how to sit there in "the skiers position", that took me probably another 20 minutes.  Meanwhile my husband and his sister are sitting in the boat laughing their butts off at me because I can't get my left foot to hold the ski up correctly.  And I'm choaking on water, and laughing at myself.  I don't think I have ever felt so vulnerable in my whole life.  I couldn't do anything well.

So I finally figure it out, and it's time for me to try to ski.  Right?  Well, the first try was a horrible bust.  I'm not sure how much water I swallowed, but I am pretty sure the lake is a couple inches lower than is was before I started.  The second time I did a little better - At least I didn't suck down a bunch of water.  I almost got up, but then I did the splits, and fell over.  My legs this morning by the way are killing me.  I can barely walk without feeling pain in my thighs.

So then I continued to try, determined to get up on these damn skis.  Stupid sport.  But I was determined.  Needless to say, many many MANY trys later, I still had not succeeded in getting up completely.  Even though I did come close several times.  I finally gave up with a I fell backwards and I was seriously worried that when I found my left ski that my foot and ankle would still be in it.

So I gave up before I seriously killed my pathetic self.  But not before I vowed not to give up next time until I at least get completely up for a second or two.  At least it was fun, and my husband and his sister can feel like they are professionals all because of me.  Who cares that every bone and muscle in my body is sore today, and I'm walking like a geriatric patient.  Who knew that learning a water sport would be so humbling?  ;o)

Condoms and Glue Sticks

So.... I have just been informed by my husband that I need to buy more condoms.  (side note:  This is because we were too poor to afford my birthcontrol last month, so I am currently "au-natural")  So anyway.  I have to go to Walmart to buy a glue stick to put together my Thank-you cards.  (you might ask why... This is because the photos that go in my cards are too small for the allotted slots and they won't stay in place, so I'm glue sticking them in.)  So I'm going to walk into Walmart with my $8 and purchase one glue stick, and one 3-pack of condoms.

I wonder what the cashier is going to think I'm doing with them?

I hate my sister

Everyone wonders why I hate my sister.  "Why are you so mean to her?" they ask.  The truth is, anyone who knows me, and has met my sister, soon figures out why I don't bother with her.
Here's a recent list of grievances
1.  She wears ivory on my wedding day.  - Tacky
2.  Her obtrusive boyfriend insults my photographer while standing right behind her.  -who the hell does he think he and his uni-brow are anyway?!  He's no frikin' professional photographer.
3.  Her and her boyfriend publish their photos of my personal wedding day on their site without asking if Darin or I am ok with it.
4.  Then, she decides to distribute these photos to anyone who asks for them, again, without asking me, so now she has ruined my ability to show my relatives myself the photos of my wedding.  As well as allowing them to print whatever photos they wish, so if I choose to give them a photo as a gift, it is highly possible they already have it printed and framed themselves.  Therefore making my gift pretty crappy.
5.  She emails me and tells me I should thank her for all she's done.
6.  I email her back and tell her I haven't thanked her because it was all done without my permission, and even though she thought it was a good idea, it was her idea, and done for her proposes in mind.  Not mine.  So that is why I haven't thanked her.
7.  She emails me back and tells me she has taken down the photos because it is clear that I don't want them up.  - proving my point in the first place.  She doesn't ever bother to ask what someone else would like.

Of course this is the short of it.  There are better details.  But I won't bore you with my rant.  I hate her. I wish she would fall off the face of the earth.  Not die, because she'd haunt me and try to do bad things to me in her afterlife.  I just want her to be locked in a tiny cell somewhere.  Think that's possible?  I don't think it's too much to ask for my sanity.

Did you say what?!

So, I attended my first 2 hour meeting today with the accessories group. Wow. These people cus worse than sailors! I was a little surprised, and relieved to hear it. Now I know how layed back these people really are. They swear in their normal sentences, even when they aren't pissed at anything at all! I think I'm going to like here a lot.

My first happy hour is tonight as well! woo hoo!

Gettin' Settled & Startin' Work

So I'm trying to get settled in this crappy transit city. I don't know what the hell the city planners were thinking when they planned and built the roads, but none of them work as they should. Anyone who has ever complained about Dallas' traffic has got to get a life. On my first Day of work it took me an hour and ten minutes to get to work. Now, granted I my aunt's house, with whom I'm staying, is on the southeast part of the city, and Wilsons Leather is on the Northwest part of the city. BUT STILL! Today it did only take me 45 minutes so I guess that's not so bad. So I'll shut up.

Now let's talk weather. I believe it is going to snow soon. It has rained for like 4 days straight. So much so that I thought that perhaps I moved to Seattle somehow by accident. Today it is supposed to be 55 degrees! I repeat 55 Degrees! Is this winter? How did I go so wrong? What did I do to my spoiled little life in Fort Worth? I don't know what I'm going to do. Everyone here is running around in open toe shoes, and I want to put on my wool coat and mittens.

Work. Let me tell you about work now! OH MY GOD! First. The atmosphere is "business casual". So naturally, I think dress pants, skirts and such. Apparently in this industry that is not what it means. I showed up to work yesterday (my first day) in a cute black linen skirt with red embossed flowers on it, and a knit top. (To me, somewhat dressed down, because I didn't want to appear too stuffy.) So here I go. Thinking I'm a little under dressed, but still appropriate and cute. I walk in and the HR manager is looking more like casual Saturday. You know, laying around the house wear. Then I am shuffled down to my department where my new boss is wearing (I think jeans, I don't remember) and a black leather Wilsons baseball cap. Her hair is pulled through the back hole like women do on the weekends to hide their bed-head. All the girls I met yesterday were wearing jeans (even though they were designer) and casual (yet fashionable) tops. Most of them had cute stiletto shoes on too. So, apparently, "business casual" in the Wilsons Leather world means jeans all week long. I'm pretty curious to see what they show up wearing on Friday. Maybe their pj's. ;o) So.... I guess I now need to go shopping for some seven jeans or better. Any reason is a good reason to go shopping isn't it? Of course it is!

All the people here are young looking. The two buyers for my department look like they are my age. I think I may have seen all of two people that may or may not be over the age of 40. So that is very cool. They are having a happy hour on Thursday that I'm excited about, and later in the month they are doing a boat trip DURING THE WORK DAY on Friday starting at 1:00. They are also supplying us with 2 drink coupons. So I am hoping the social atmosphere is much better than that of P1. I'll let you know how tomorrow goes! I wish I had my Cesar here so he could go with me so I don't feel like a loser. But oh well, I guess I need to break my Cesar umbilical cord. :o)

Let's see, what else should I write about? I don't know really. There is so much to talk about. This weekend there is a Dumont (the town of 200 next to Wheaton) Street Dance so I will have to head out directly after work on Friday to make it there by 9:00pm. It should be fun. Basically there is live music and everyone walks around the street drinking. One fabulous thing about small towns is that the alcohol is cheap! Who doesn't love that! Then on Sunday we have our boring reception. I hope that everyone gives us money, because I have no more room for kitchen supplies.

I better run now, the girl who is training me just showed up. A size 4 (if even that) 16 week pregnant Russian girl who is leaving me on my own next week to go on vacation in Russia.
